Yes. I know that I didn't go into a depressive slump when Obama got elected. I've had many contacts with people that are over the top on this.

As far as economic or market adjustments, some of that change has already taken place.  Anybody who expects to see dramatic change on day one has been looking in the wrong places on the internet, as one responder said perhaps Facebook.

Will the economy change during the term of the new president, quite likely it will.  These changes could be due to factors that are beyond control of any president, for good or bad.  The economy has changed with the current president, up and down. 

I am not certain why anybody would think this is necessarly a doomsday event, there will be some changes over time, lets home that most are for the good of America.

It is amazing how some can be so detached from reality.  

Paul, I had a client this past week that said she wanted to wait until Trump's inauguration to see if the economy collapsed before she makes a purchase. She seriously believes that once Trump is sworn in as President, the economy will change overnight. If it doesn't, then she will buy some property.

Oh yes!.  I know many of them.  I've also been seeing many take care of health stuff this month because of it.

I predict that many will be upset and depressed for the rest of this year.

The fact is that wherever one goes....there they are. Rise above or sink!

Any idiot that wants to leave this country over any election should, they are doing us a favor. I have no time for whiners, I'm interested in people that make the best of any situation and create their own economy. The president has nothing to do with my income unless I roll over and play dead and allow the President to be my excuse. We all who were in business from 2006-2011 survived the worst economy on the planet through 2 Presidents; we survived it, so we can do anything we decide we're going to do if we're resolute in our decision and purpose. I did sonmething last year I've never done in my career, I laughed in the face of a buyer that told me he's going to quit his buying process since Trump is looking like the potential winner and our economy would crash. I literally without any thought or control burst out laughing because I thought he made a joke. The look on his face said otherwise, but at that point in my mind, I was saying buh bye now. Last time we ever spoke or saw each other, but man I just couldn't believe the stupidity.

If you're still depressed get on some meds ASAP.

Paul, offer to pay her transportation costs to Toronto. That's a plane fare, not a moving the household cost. 

Start a campaign making that offer. Before long Canada will be building a wall.

My first thought while reading this question is this might be an opportunity to sign a listing if she is already a homeowner.   

Whether she was thinking of moving up or is a first time homebuyer...I'll stick by my old standard response when I hear of any reason why someone is not moving forward....real buyers buy and real sellers sell.  

No, just the opposite. I am seeing and hearing a new consumer confidence. We had the busiest December ever and January has started out fantastic in a time that usually sees a slow down until spring.

I was depressed by the previous 2 elections and lived through it with everyone else. For those who want to leave, many will help you pack your bags!

I have not had any clients postpone their search but depression is in full swing.

Wow! I know a lot of people who keep talking about it on social, but thats about it.

Lots of nervous folks out there. We depend on a lot of international business and they are putting a hold on buying to see what this clown president is going to do.

I remember the angst around the year 2000 coming with all the computers crashing and worldwide panic.

Here in the Heartland, people are excited and nervous at the same time.  Buyers tend to be taking a wait and see approach. 

There are elections on a regular basis throughout the world.  It is unclear which election you are referring to.

It is not a topic for discussion with me.  I have not encountered anyone who is suffering from the results of the election. If I did, I would need to refer those people to a mental health professional.  I do not have the skill set to help them.

I just received a new listing from a Hillary supporter. She asked about my political leanings and I responded that I do not discuss religion nor politics in my business. Perhaps she is moving to Canada?

Does it mean she has an old house that you can sell?

Everyone I've been around seems to have accepted the results and they are moving on to other things. 

I'd offer to list their house and refer them to someone in another country.

I have a sister-in-law that has literally flipped her lid. She unfriended her own sister, spent Thanksgiving and Christmas alone, and spends the entire day on Twitter spreading some pretty incredulous lies. Regardless of where you stand politically, this behavior is nothing short of a mental illness.

I would say the majority of my clients were happy with the results and so the only place I still hear about the snowflakes is on the news and Facebook.  It's time for everyone to come together ... we didn't fall apart the last 8 years but worked through it.  Now let's see what the New President Elect will do!  I'm looking forward to the future!

People need to grow up and get on with life.

Lately, I've been getting a bit depressed about the election from what I'm seeing.

I know some who are afraid that they may be deported.  The rest of us will carry on and see what happens.

Same thing different day.  Republicans thought it was the end of the world when President Obama was elected and threatened to leave the country.  Now it's the Democrats to act Un-American.  We only have one President at a time, let's support and pray for them and forget about party loyalty.  We did have a lousy choice this time.  Where have all of the Kennedys & Reagans gone?

Get over it, people! Even if we don't like the candidate, it's time to get behind what's right and work together.

Sad to say, I have seen folks on FB still 'bashing' (not just 'talking') the Election, and I'm actually no longer interested in their comments, nor the False News that they post, from certain sites.  Someone will make '1' comment, and others will blast them with their comments - there are instigators for sure!  So, they are either depressed, or have no other life.  How serious of a comment do you feel this was from your client Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington?  Is this emotion talking, or could she be serious, and could you get a Referral Fee from another country?

In my area, almost everyone is upbeat and not talking about their candidate not winning. I have yet to hear a buyer mention anything about it.
