I'll stop myself from saying that's a ridiculous question, ooops I just did!

But .... if you have 3-4 sites NOT working for your benefit then the $30-50 per month is a waste of time & energy. I have 2 that are working & one that is a complete dud. I do wonder if I should dump it - BUT .... be sure that you have put in the time to have it 'work for you'.

You have to learn SEO, etc to benefit you & your business.  I have too many people in my office to expect their site to be a magic bullet & it's not.

How did it benefit them?

It is worth $50 dollars a month?

Do you think you have a better, more economical option?

Tell us what else you are considering.

What do do to enhance? This topic is too significant of a AR Q & A.

I get 65+% of my business from repeat and referral clients. You better have a website today if you want any street cred with potential buyers and especially sellers. Is it worth $30-50/month? Where do you find anything of value for that kind of money?

My site costs me $50/yr at most!  It's my 24/7 salesman and helps promote my listings.

30 to 50 a month?  Does that include an IDX platform?  That alone will run you more than 30 -50 a month.  Use landing pages to create a want to attract leads - BUT you need an IDX platform.

Yes, I think a personal web site is necessary, but it has to be one that can be found by google, and offers value to potential clients. Can they easily search for homes, sign up for notifications, get information on the process/etc?

No.  Instead of a website, take out $600 per page print media ads.  Spend your day walking around neighborhoods and knocking on doors.  Ignore the DNC list and cold-call potential buyers and sellers.

Just kidding... of course it is worth $30 to $50 per month!!!!

Totally worth it and what Sheri Sperry - MCNE® said - you HAVE to have an IDX to attract buyers and, of course, the website itself for your sellers.

Get / build your own WordPress site. Write good local content. Ensure the site and the content is good bait for the search engines. Integrate IDX on the site. SEO the IDX pages. Have a call to action and ways to be reached on the site and on every page.

Web presence is worth lot more than $30-$50/month.

Though I attract my clients working by referrals with Buffini & Company.

Good Luck.

If you have IDX on your website with a robust version that you can build out pages to get indexed by google out of, you would be paying $59 per month just for the IDX, for IDX broker or $400 + a year for FLEX MLS IDX.

Then you have your hosting which will range from $5 per month paid annually to $25 per month, depending on the hosting company you choose.

So I don't see a decent website costing less than $65 per month.

I am not sure which kind of agent website you are referring to.

If you are talking about a templated website that your  company gives you or one that you get where all you do is fill in your name. ... then I would say NO, it is not worth it because that website is never going to get found onlne by your prospects.

IF you are doing that, I would suggest you at least get a cheap Placester website for the $5 per month they charge with your NAR discount. At least there you can blog and make it look a little decent.

That all being said, your website should fit your audience. It should wow your sellers if you get listings and it should make your buyers never want to leave if you are set up for buyers. A website is something you market off line to your sellers. It is all about positioning.

Even really good websites that attract clients do not necessarily attract quality clients.  I think it's important to put together a web site that will have enough SEO in your name to help your old buyers find you, and to help the quality prospects that you pick up from referrals or Open Houses bond with you.

I think that the question could have been in 1 post instead of 3 and part of AR is to include who you are. I attract more clients through my Active Rain blog than any website. It includes promiting one self in q and a and through being active in Active Rain, therefore people need to see who you are to build a rapport.
