I didn't know it was restricted. I use YouTube because it is a Google company and will get picked up by the search engines.

We use Vimeo all the time, and we even pay extra not to have  Vimeo's logo on our videos.  I think it may have something to do with your setting on your Vimeo account.  A

I would think it would work in a post if it works on your profile. I'd be in touch with Bob Stewart and perhaps leave a comment on his post

I do not know why it cannot be posted.  I believe is should work. Maybe it is a glitch.  It seems that if it is working on your profile it would work in a post. 

Am not a Vimeo user, like Debbie use You Tube for the SEO.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.  For my two cents, I'm in the "use youtube" camp because it does benefit your google "juice."

AFAIK it works just fine - I've done it in the past although I now use youtube exclusively for posting vids

I didn't know that this wasn't possible.  You might try copying and pasting the video from an external blog or web page.  Might work.

   It should be working... you may have to manually insert the embed code.  Perhaps there is a glitch?

It has been a while since I embedded a Vimeo but they used to work, at least some of them did, check your sharing settings.

Personally I much prefer dealing with Youtube.

Bob Stewart would be the best source to find out about future AR plans.

Not sure what you mean but you have to embed the video.

I will add that the vid (YT) on my profile is working but it is sized all wonky. Bob knows about it. It's probably happening to others since the upgrade also.

I was under the impression that all video needed a YouTube embed code.

Clearly Vimeo works on the AR profile and apparently comes without the advertising.
