Not much... it doesn't get all that cold here in Charlotte and when it does it's very short-lived.

No, the cold doesn't affect business. It does, however affect comfort! I have an inspection this afternoon when temps are supposed to be 0-10 with wind chill. BRRRR. I'm wearing foot warmers, boots, wool socks, insulated clothing, etc. I don't care what I look like.

The cold slows things down a bit, but the holidays really makes it a challenge. Everyone assumes that no one else is working, which speaking for myself is not quite true.

More than cold is snow which keeps the roads unsafe and the homes inaccessible.

Ginger,
Not really, cold here is equivalent to someone's cold spring back East. Of course, we are excluding Florida from this equation.

Not here.
It's going to be a bone-chilling 39 degrees tonight! But it will be over soon - the high on Saturday will be 77 degrees.

Winter is always a slow time and it is difficult to show houses when the wind chill is low.

It is cold enough in Maryland this morning that some people will not want to be out and about. Winter weather warnings are posted for the weekend. Agents may wish to complete their holiday shopping rather than having an open house.

Yes. The "more winter our winter", buyer activity typically slows. However, people who HAVE TO move are always in the market.

It does not because weather does not interview with the video open house on demand and they connect the many miles apart the out of state, country buyer is. Some buyers too busy in summer to focus on the purchase but after New Year's glasses clink and dreams turn into plans, we get the call, email, text or office visits. Like the mailman, weather does not deter the motivation to buy if you deliver the product.

The definition of "cold" really depends on location. Our "cold" in the Los Angeles area is quite different than other parts of the country/world.

Not really but, the 'season' does a bit! Although I typically have an insanely December, it's been a bit slower this year than ever before. I don't think it's the cold weather though!

Friday & Saturday we saw highs of near zero, and not much real estate happening around here.

Not so much in Southern California as it is usually short lived. Rain does have a bitter impact as no one knows how to drive in the rain.

Hi Ginger Harper - the cold affects Sedona and AZ in a positive way. We are a second home, vacation home market mainly because of the beauty and the weather (scorching summers or snowy winters) in other parts of the country.
Last year I had homes in contract and this year I have as well.

Unfortunately, I have a very unpleasant reaction to COLD! Fortunately, those coming to Florida tell me I don't know what COLD is and keep my business moving forward.
No, cold (anything below 70 degrees) does not affect sales in Florida.
