Many years ago, I heard Carson speak at an awards dinner for people making a difference with at-risk youth in the DC area, and he was amazing.  This room full of teenagers who could go either way was mesmerized.  

It was sometime in the early 1990's.  He had just completed a very complicated operation at Howard University Hospital where he had successfully separated conjoined twins - the first time ever this particular type of surgery had worked.  And was a local hero.   Carson had the whole room, myself included, ready to vote for him for President.  

I might have made him Surgeon General or Health and Human Services. HUD would not have occurred to me.

 I am more than willing to give him a chance ...

He is a brilliant man and certainly not a politican. I have high hopes for change and not business as usual which is poor at best

What Gary L. Waters, Broker Owner, Waters Realty of Brevard, LLC said is the reality.  I am a Carson fan, so I'm hopeful.

He's sensible and smart - and I think driven to do a good job, regardless of his post.  I'm certainly willing to support him in that post.

He is a brilliant man and not coming with an agenda. Maybe that is what we need, someone who will listen to what needs to be done and open to new ideas.

I would prefer to see Carson in the oval office.

he's far from being qualified for that position... and I see it as Trump balancing the cabinet and covering the race issue....

Much of HUDs policy over the past few years has been "use homebuyers" as a cash cow for other programs.  I don't see Carson continuing that mindset, so in that regard he'll be good.

I think that Carson cannot do any worse.  One of the problems that I see in Gov is that no one has common sense.  I think Carson will do well.

He is used to dealing with individuals who have BRAINS !!!!

I have absolutely no idea if he'll be good for HUD but wish him the best and suspect that his intellectual capabilities will serve him well in any position.

Out of my pay grade to make that decision.

Ben Carson is good but....

Kind of an odd choice, since he has no experience. But we will see, as with all the other nominees he has made.

I am still questioning why he was given that position. 

He lie already so not sure.

I think he'll be a good person for the job.

Why not.  I could not even tell you he will be replacing.
