That we are available 24/7! No way... (and we shouldn't be, either). Real estate is not my life the way those old NAR ads claimed. It's what I do professionally and is just part of my life.

My pet peeves are the correlation to a used car salesman and that the only thing agents care about is commissions!

People are hiring the agent not the brand/brokerage - truth

Myth - if you hire the big box brand you get the big bucks marketing  and brand with it. 

Truth - you only get that if the agent one hires is marketing the heck out of the property ... more than 6 iphone photos in the MLS and they answer their phone and respond to emaiils. 

That we all have secret lists of waiting buyers or 'off the books' listings!

Myth:  All the agents care about is the commission.

Step 2 head over to the Mercedes dealer, because all agents make a lot of money,

We make too much money for doing so little!

I just wrote my blog about this today Andrew Mooers where a lady told me it was not suppose to be busy this time of year. 

One myth is that I will bend over backwards to help someone who does nothing but irritate me.  (A call I had this weekend.... sorry.)

The myth that it's easy! 

"Use the listing agent to buy your home and you will get you a better deal"  

That we are overpaid for services. If true, then all professions should come under scrutiny. If not, then all should pay to play like everything else

The myth that we only care about the next sale/commission. No! We care about fulfilling the task our clients have trusted us with completing; the rest is gravy!

That it is always a great day to buy or sell real estate.

It's gotta be the 24/7 myth

That it's easy - "all you do is show a few houses and collect the check".

That most agents take home the whole commission on a sale.

That Zillow Zestimates are anywhere's near accurate!
