Absolutely NOT!!!   I would keep my loyalties with my lenders.  We all know that rates are going up but depending on your clients credit and finacials they may get better rates through your trusted lender.  Keep those relationships tight!  I mean Zillow gets Zestimates very wrong some times so how can we trust any kind of mortgage rate they post?  Also, who is Zillow's source for those quotes? 

Zillow and mortgage rates? Why not. Many real estate professionals pay a thousand buck a month to validate the darkside.

But I'll bite my lip until a see them providing guidance on DIY chest pain solutions, sponsored by Solar City and their Pacemaker division.

That's the problem with our 'connected' society. Any information will do regardless of how faulty it may be. The good news is banks have their act sufficiently together (not real estate) to bring Zillow to task.

I trust Zillow for nothing! And let's face it, mortgage rates change for different people depending on the product, their credit, amount borrowed, etc.

Zillow is a lender.  However, I only consider name banks and local loan brokers for preapproval. 

I have been selling cabins and land in a remote part of northern Arizona. The fact that there is a mortgage even mentioned on property posts is ridiculous. Lenders will not lend on these properties at all.

I have to spend my time explaining to potential Buyers that Zillow, Trulia and others that they have a different agenda and they do not always display truth in advertising.

Never,never. Also if you are a Realtor,why would you quote rates? That would be like me telling your buyer,he/she paid too much for the home! So why should a Realtor stay out of the mortgage arena? Here is why. Mortgage rates today are not the same for everyone. I always tell my borrowers "You make your rate." Rates are based on credit score,LTV, property type,and on refinance cash out or not. These are just a few of the many factors that can increase rates. So unless your in the mortgage business,stay away. My wife who sells approximately 50 homes a year,tells her buyer's agent and her clients  "I sell homes,not mortgages."

Zillow isn't creating that info, simply publishing data gathered elsewhere --- it's likely accurate, but for which data fields you'll never know.  Could be the average of a 740+ FICO score, 75LTV loan with .5 points paid by the borrower.....or could be any number of other scenarios.

Not worth looking at twice.

Never have, never would.  There are too many variables that come into play with every transaction to assume that anyone could have enough information for an accurate quote without a full application and documentation review by a loan officer.

It may give you a 'ballpark', but not enough to trust.

Zillow is not a lender nor real estate broker for that matter... therefore, there are not making the loan nor the sale.  I think it would be ok for buyers to look but also advisable to get a second or third quote to compare.

There are several variables in calculating an interest rate. The LTV, credit score, loan program, days locked, etc.

When you see ones like the one posted, it may have points, 70% LTV, 800 credit score; all of the best scenarios to provide a seemingly great rate.  

If it comes from a reputable lender I would.

Trust but verify and always look for the asterisk.
