We had the "Traditional" family Thanksgiving when we were growing up.  Today, we go to a nice restaurant.

Family, food and fun!

A Traditional Thanksgiving for me, is Turkey with all the trimmings, green been saserole, yams, cranberry salad, dressing and of course apple and pumpkin pie.

Up until last year we spent the previous 20 Thanksgivings in Phoenix with my wife's sister and their family. I miss the 80 degree sunshine in November now...

It is just being together with friends and family.  What we serve does not matter.  My father in law did not like turkey, so I always made a meat dish for him.  A

Actually me wife and I go to Dim Sum brunch. However, tradition is going to the Turkey Bowl that morning. Firiends I grew up with started playing touch football when we were 10 years old. This year we celebrate the 58th Turkey Bowl. We are a few steps slower but we beciome those 10 year olds one day per year. Pictures will be coming.

One that is held in October as it has been for generations.

We have never extablished Thanksgiving traditions. My last traditional times were when living with my parents.

We are having a small group so I am cooking less. I am roasting a turkey, making dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, cranberries, deviled eggs and rolls. I will make pecan and pumpkin pies. Yes the diet starts on Sunday or Monday.

Rather than over the river and through the woods, I will be taking the freeway to my traditional Thanksgiving celebration.

I cook a turkey with stuffing but vary the recipe year to year. We always have potatoes of some sort, plus brussels sprouts, and home made cranberry sauce. Dessert usually includes both pecan and apple pies. Happy Thanksgiving!

I leave the menu to my wife, time of dinner is determined by when the kids get off work, and I invite plenty of people to join us

I have always roasted a turkey with homemade stuffing inside and outside the bird. I also usually had mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli casserole, homemade yeast rolls, sweet potato casserole and apple cranberry bake.

That would depend on what part of my life you refer to the traditions have ebbed and flowed with the years.

BBQ, Ribs, Mexican food, Italian food, Prime Rib, Corn Dogs & Fritos, Chocolate Fountain.  If I have room left at the end (after the pumpkin pie, bananas foster and other yummy foods), then the turkey!

This year I am going for some BBQ slightly charred & flame broiled Ribeyes with lots of side...Your mouth salivates excessively when eating these

Put turky in oven first!  Then get our hiking boots on and heading up the mountain for a nice hike.  Then coming back and enjoying friends/family and enjoying football and a good meal together. Gobble! Gobble!

We usually enjoy the traditional turkey, dressing, gravy, mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn dish, cranberries, French bread, apple pie etc. an enjoy it with family or friends and sometimes both!

Tomorrow, for the first time in over ten years, we will spend the day with my son and his wife overeating!

Traditional for me is cooking, eating and cleaning until everyone is gone. My husband writes the same list every year.

Yes, my family will have all of that.... 

but I will only eat white turkey meat (3oz) a few raw veggies.... a few shrimp no cocktail sauce for an appetizer....ice water and lemon to drink.... I'll be full but comfortable....

It has always been my husband cooking a fantastic Turkey dinner with plenty of sides and having a few friends over

This year however, he wanted a break so we're stepping outside our tradition and buying a rotisserie chicken and store bought sides LOL

Turkey is standard; the rest we change up.

I like to have turkey, but beyond that I don't get "excited" about traditions regarding food.

Gathering of family and friends with lots of cooking and laughter - I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!
