It is humbling and greatly appreciated when someone chooses to 'follow' my blog... Thank you Richie Alan Naggar for the question.

I can honestly say that every time I have notification that a new person is following me on AR, I immediately email a thank you to that person.... I think there is nothing more complimentary than to have a follower... I'd rather have a follower than a feature....

Richie Alan Naggar - definitely glad that one more person is following me. More than 1,000 followers for me, however nowhere compared to some members here..

First I'm honored, second I follow them back (if I have not already followed them) and then I send a Thank You for following me message. I wish I could say I do that right away, I don't.  But I take a slot of time out of my schedule to specifically get back to those who have followed me.

Nothing better than a new follower!! I'm with Barbara Todaro I'd rather have a new follower than a feature.

It is an honor when someone follows me. I feel honored. 

I reciprocate and follow them!

First I smile.

Then i click on their profile to see if they have any posts out that I can write an encouraging word or two on.

And finally I hit follow, if I have not done so already.

I try to thank them but do not track my followers. Many of them are now inactive.

Pleasantly surprised and we send the AR member a thank you note and reciprocate, unless we are already 'Following'  them

I email them, thank them, and follow them.  I hope I can be an inspiration to them, and vice versa.  A

Richie, when someone follows me I send 'thank you' them for the compliment and follow them as well.

I feel good.

I have two thoughts:

1. When I get a follower because I wished them luck on their listing.  It's nice and I follow them back.
2. When I write a big blog (like the phishing one or the search one) and get a follower it has more meaning to me.  I of course follow them back.

Great!!!   I picked up two followers yesterday, made my day!

Honored and... Like I need to write something worth reading.

Gratitude.

First that they trusted me with their time.

Second that I was able to  share a message with resonance to something important to them. For that I must be grateful that I can listen deep..

Third, the challenge to meet their expectation.

For me a follower is not a reward but a responsibility, an obligation.

Feelings of success to have someone follow you knowing your hard work cultivating this blog is being read and seen

I do not really notice if I loose followers or not. But if someone follows me, i'm honored and grateful. 

I love it. 

I also respond to that person and follow them. Sometimes I send a personal message. Although recently I've been followed by some spammers. They were reported. I don't follow them. Bob has deleted a profile or two based upon information I've sent him. 

It makes my heart smile!  I am honored!

Pretty much the same. It is not the metric that matters to me.

I'm always pleased and delighted; often surprised, but humbled.

It depends on the type of follower.  Some types of followers simply increase counts but have no other value (e.g. automated bots).
