We had to have one of these on our commercial building. As soon as a gravity feed came available we connected. The pump alarm was always having problems going out.

Cool! I'm a fan of the "ejector seat" in a car which nullifies gravity quite nicely.

Darn. My answer would have been sump pump. I've never heard of an ejector pump. Is that more common in rural properties?

The proper name is called Lift Station pump. Barbara Todaro When I got out of school I reviewed the waste water design from developments. The elevation of the gravity sewers connections I caught them designed going up the hill and denied their permit application from sloppy design.
Some added a lift station and resubmit for correction. They also require to have standby power source (generator). Bad design contribute to local sewer back up and lawsuits. A few denied never resubmit for permit approval and operated anyway they wanted. Sears tower was one.
