Even after confirming right before we are scheduled to meet with them, this has happened. I will only try to call them once...then it's goodbye! 

I always reconfirm my appointments before I leave the office. It seems to cut down on these disappointments. 

I hunt them down and skewer 'em!

Call back & ask if I was mistaken that we had an appt & ask to reschedule. Unless it's a rental in which case I never call back.

Typically I will call, text and/or email.  Stuff happens.  Second chances too.

If they don't have a good excuse I fire them and move on

I call them, a few answer, others will never answer or return a call.

Stuff happens! I call and get the facts and then reschedule!

Hopefully I called them to confirm but if it happens I'll rant, vent to someone who pretends to care and then move on.   Things do happen but I'll proceed with guarded optimism.

I had come across a few of those especially in leasing. I usually call or text or email them before our appointment to confirm. If they don't confirm then I let it go. Sometimes people confirmed and still didn't show up. in this case I told them I came just to show the property(ies) and they have confirmed and yet didn't show. I appreciate if they had told me to cancel. Sometimes I got a "sorry" back from them sometimes no answer.  This is one of the reasons why I don't work leasing anymore.

It depends on the details.

I confirm ahead of time. Even so, sometimes people don't show up. The last time it happened, I confirmed the appointment and then went to the house (1/2 hour from me). I was a little early and spoke to the seller for a bit on her way out, then did a quick preview, and waited outside for my buyer. At about 10 minutes past due, I called to see if he was almost there. By the way, it was a gorgeous Sunday and I remember wishing I didn't have the showing because I wanted to be out on the lake! Anyway, I called him and he said, "Oh, we decided not to come." No apology came. No explanation. I fired him on the spot. Sorry, I don't have time for people who are disrespectful and don't really want my expertise in buying their house. And that's pretty much what I told him.

I try to call or text them to remind them. I make it clear if I don;t hear back from them then I will assume they will not be there and need to reschedule. This prevents being stood up.

Give them a second chance, explain that my time is valuable and would appreciate a simple text message.

Lots of light hearted, direct and indirect answers here regarding clients pulling a no-show with no call.

Just the fact that there are so many responses to this makes me realize there are more agents encountering the same issue. It also tells me that there are, indeed, inconsiderate people everywhere who have no concern for another person's time. In a wierd way I am relieved that it happens to others, but it never feels good. 

Fortunately, the no-shows are a very small percentage of people and we move on to the next.

Make one last phone call and send one last email... then drop them.

I call them to see what happened.  Sometimes there is a good excuse.

It happens. But I see no excuse not to call or text with cancellation or to reschedule. Everyone has a mobile device these days. 

It's happened.  Call them after 10 minutes and leave after 15.

After making sure they aren't stuck in traffic, I would leave a message letting them know I was there for our appointment and invite them to reschedule.  That reschedule offer is only for clients I'm working with...not folks who called out of the blue.

Sometimes things happen or the Buyer may have written down a different time.  I would give them the benefit of the doubt first, but after that, a second time means they are not interested and I would move on to other, more considerate clients.

Unless they were in an accident, hospital, coma, or dead ... we are done. Lame BS excuses don't fly with me.  

That happened one on a listing appointment. I showed up and there was a note on the door.  The seller was rushed to the hospital. I listed their home and have since completed several other transaction with them.  

Buyers don't get that much latitude from me.  

Call them and leave a VM

I will give them another chance. If it happens again, I have a "2 Strike" rule! No threesies for me!

Try and confirm the reason...an accident, sick child etc. 

I was stood up once for a lunch meeting.  I later found out this person had a near fatal accident and was in the shock trauma unit. 

Hope they have a good explanation, although very few excuses would work. Will think twice about working with them.

Often the VM is full. I eMail and text also for ducmentation purpose.

I wait  and see. I once had a buyer on his way to meet me that rolled his truck over in an accident and was taken to hospital. Sometimes there is a legitimate reason.

I have a one strike policy unless it is for a really good reason.

It does not happen, I always tell them that I am going to call them an hour before our appointment. If they fail to answer, this agents is not going anywhere.

Make a call, if they avoid me I move on - if they have a valid excuse we reschedule - what else can you do?

Responseis defined by whether they are working with an agent. No agent means I am responsible for the outcome.

Take their name and number and wait.

Find an off market listing that equals the subject house, and text them about it, tomorrow. If they respond, establish the rules and the cost involved when appointments are not kept.
