Well we would sit down, side by side, as I brought up Google...

You are providing great information - if it is floored is it still a window or just a bay?

Floor to ceiling bay, but they don't actually have to go all the way to ceiling. Some cross at door height.

We don't differentiate and call all of those bay windows. They all have floor space in our area.

Have seen a walkout bay window, but unfamiliar with that term. Maybe because you could not walk out!

Hmm, sounds a bit like a contradiction in terms...

Well I was sorta going to describe it that way. We've had several - nice to have the extra floor space. Can't say I recall the term walkout, since you can't

Interesting. We use the term bay window without attaching "walkout" to it.

The simple answer could have been they can walk right out the opening before the window is installed. But in reality, I LOVE these windows, great for light and plants

Never heard of that expression. I know what a bay window is. I know what a walk-out basement is. We just call what you described a bay window and never use the expression "bow" window.

It is a bay window that extends out as part of the construction. In other words, the walls and windows are not flush ... they both extend out. And, even as I type this I question if that makes sense ... or if it explains it correctly.

An area surrounded with windows to sit in or walk in.
Like a sun room.
