Good historical information.
Brings to mind some of the early pioneer homes constructed the kitchen in a separate building removed from the main house to remove the fire danger.
Today, the kitchen remains and all that remains of the main house is the chimney.

I knew that one well. I had a large building we were listed that had balloon construction that failed the inspection due to it. Then the buyer and seller fought over whether it was legal or not. In the end the buyer agent got an education and the buyer closed.
