Be sure to have booties available. Some people are apprehensive of taking their shoes off for potential health reasons.

We'll never know. However, I have booties to encourage prospective buyers to walk the entire house and keep the owner happy.

I think footies would be the thing to have available, or cancel the open house especially on a rainy, windy day. It really depends where it is. In Hawaii, people are used to taking their shoes off at the front door.

No, they were just rude. I wouldn't let it bother me really.

It is a good idea to have footies available for guests.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Call 631-805-4400 (c) - well, at least I do not allow them to enter! Simple!

Maybe were real buyers but kinda rude. Couldn't have been all that serious!

At one sunny summer open house one person refused to cooperate(6,200 sf gla estate) and booties & chairs are ready. She made some remark that she wore high heel at her home.. I had to escort her out of the estate threaten to call cops.. Had two buyers from 20 groups at only showing. Do not need these people.

They might be real buyers who had on odd socks or maybe socks with holes in the toes.

They should treat the house like their own. After all they are there to see if they even want to buy it. Cut them loose.

NO, real buyers could think it may be their home some day and not want to dirty the floors

Whether buyers or not with that type of disrespect for others' property they would not continue being my client for long. That's when I climb to the highest hill and yell to the top of my lungs.........................N E X T!!

We rarely have rainy days here so I don't know. My guess is they have some kind of issue if they refuse to put on some booties. Or maybe there is a physical problem?
3,407,780
No telling. I've had people refuse to remove their shoes or put on booties. They were not allowed in. I did not care if they were serious or not. They were rude and disrespectful ... that's all I needed to know
1,530,444
Yes. I'm under doctor's orders not to walk barefoot or in shoes without arch support... and man do I feel it when I don't follow directions!
749,494
They were inconsiderate, for sure. Maybe buyers, but not respectful of other peoples' homes.

Interesting, as I have not had that happen yet Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Call 631-805-4400 (c). In our niche, we always have a chair by the door so it's easier to put on those 'blue' shoe covers, as not all older folks have great balance nor can easily reach that far while standing (so techically they are not removing shoes). I can't imagine why some would refuse, unless if it was 'too much' of an inconvenience?!

You won't enter my house with shoes on. We prefer a clean, sanitary home.
But, if they left over refusal to remove them, they were rude, not you and no, they were not buyers. Few who attend open houses are.

They were most likely looking at a home that they had no chance in HELL of ever qualifying to purchase.

they would not get far at one of my open houses on a rainy day with shoes on....

Yes.
I will not remove my shoes for any reason, however valid the subject may be.
ON rainy, windy and snowy days. the agent or owner is responsible for taking the necessary precautions. In my ride I carry large towels in the event a door mat is needed. I also carry booties for those special occasions.
Take my shoes off! Not in this lifetime.
Arethose making such request real sellers or is the step one in negotiation, get the buyer jumping through hoops as soon as possible?

I would say they were not buyers for that house and probably not buyers you would want to work with on any house. Attitudes!

They could be real buyers. Regardless whether they are real, they are rude.
