Living and doing real estate in Wisconsin, I don't believe our market changed because of Hurricane Matthew ... but I'm sure people living anywhere near by Florida must be taking that into consideration.

I work on an inland lake in GA and we always get a surge in buyers from coastal areas after a big storm.

Couldn't say as it wasn't an issue here. But when we have wild fires it is not uncommon for some people to move, but many others rebuild in the same place. And people buy in high risk fire zones

We don't have much bad weather in my area, but it does snow in the winter. I would be happy to help anyone looking to relocated to a hurricane free area. 

After Hurricane Sandy, homes that had experienced flooding here in NJ were selling for 75% of their value.

We had many people leave after the hurricanes of 2004 and 2005.  Of those, I estimate that over 50% have returned.  Not sure if they will leave again after Matthew.

There can be many reasons why people sell.  After a disaster in our area, many will rebuild.  

I did have a new buyer this week moving back from Florida to NH.

we've not had to deal with that.... even after the worst of winter blizzards, people do not move because of it....

Too often they leave Florida and move to NC. Seeing the mistake they made they move again to Ohio only to return when they see 55 on their birthday cake.

I had a couple from the Boston area that was planning to move down and now decided not to. The news they got was not just about Matthew but all the past hurricanes we had in the past 10-15 years. I think they are going to start looking in the Carolinas now.

I think that most homeowners have a short memory after they finish with the clean up.

We were not affected in CT, but I imagine those that were displaced might be thinking about it; not the best time to sell...
