Promote your Facebook business page in your marketing, just as you do your website and blog.  Promote it on your personal FB page occasionally.  Send your contacts an individual personal message, asking them to visit and like your page to keep current on the latest news, info and trends in your market.  And so on.

By engaging with those who visit our FB pages. However, likes do not necessarily equate to more biz. Focus on getting your local readers excited about visiting your page instead.  Joining, and being active, in local FB groups is always a smart move.

Like others and ask them to like yours. You can also send out limited requests. Be careful, don't overdo or you will be put on restriction.

I have just over 1,300 likes but, what I found worked best for me, Patrick Chicklinski, is following and participating in other local businesses on FB. I'm also attentive to those who reach out on my FB page and I use my FB page in my marketing - it's a name that is easy to remember too!

Patrick Chicklinski, share your FB business page with Anita Clark - at least your business page will be featured here in her Facebook Friday posts - and you'll get few extra likes.

It is give and take. I have multiple Face Book business pages and one has over 550 likes. You have to be generous with others and it comes back to you.

Try asking Anita Clark to mention it on Face Book Fridays.

She does 5 per week. Join the group.

Putting good info on your page

I have done some contests from time to time that have been successful with landing locals on my page.  I have 1860 likes currently and I live in a small town.  

I've done... add your favorite lake photo in the comments and get the most "likes" on your photo and win a ... (have given away yeti cups, local restaurant gift certicicates... nothing more than $50 a month).  

I also share community news which has netted shares and likes.  Recently we had a water crisis and part of my town due to a main line break was without water for more than 2 days.  I offered for people to bring containers to my office to fill up for free and that post was shared more than 200 times.  Only 5 people actually came to my office to fill up containers, but SO many people thanked me for the offer.  That netted me about 100 new likes in a 48 hour period.    So my advice is make it a community news source with real estate sprinkles.

I don't have a business page....I have one facebook page that I use for everything and it works very well...people like to see some transparency....and they see that with personal, family and business.... my friends continue to increase in number....

Promote it with Facebook ads

You can do paid promotion.  I invited all my friends to join it.  I have my FB icon on my site and newsletters.  I have a whopping 54 likes.

Carol Williams has a good concept. While I have 3 business pages ... I am not actively promoting them.

When we first moved to Santa Barbara, we went to a large networking meeting at someone's estate.  We had to park our cars, and then were shuttled over to the home.  On the shuttle, there was a gal, who said, "let's network, she handed me her card and said, like me on FB and I will like you back!"  To this day, I am puzzled.  Liking someone on FB means that you and your friends will get more ads from this person's area.  For this reason, we stay out of "liking" anyone.  It is one of those empty and meaningless gestures, in our opinion...A

I don't have as many as I would "like".   I have been more involved with building my website and when complete, will spend more time on promoting the FB business page.

We do not invite likes, so our tally is not very high. I prefer to earn <Likes> based on our posts.

Publish great content, ask all your personal page followers and clients to LIKE it, like your associates pages and in kind ask them to like yours (works fine with out of area associates).

No, I guess more likes here on AR lol. I don't even know nor really care. It's a lame count of one's popularity.
