That's wool from an ugly sheep!

We usually call it " Rock Wool", fire / smoke stop insulation.

It depends what company you keep.

In impolite society...well, we won't talk about that here!

If you're in mining and manufacturing, you take slag residue from the smelting process and shred it, until it can be packaged into batts of insula-tion.

Either way, you're liable to find the subject prickly!

Insulation.

Possibly the only thing worse for a  pant choice material than polyester.

That black stuff they seal cracks with on the highway is called slag.  Does that mean some sheep got stuck to it? 

A thickening property to add to slag.

I know there is a rock wool used as insulation in attics and wonder if this could be a cousin to that.
