I have yet to make the switch although there are many I know who have.  It's such a personal decision.  Choose wisely and good luck.

It was for us.  We also hired someone to load our files from our PC's to our Macs.  We also signed up for the help at the store for $99 a year, unlimited.  We love that everything is synched between the two of us and all our devices.  That was 4 years ago, and no regrets whatsoever.  The best part for us is having the tech support and the great service that comes with it.  The tech people call you back and make an appointment with you...We just don't have time for tech issues! 

My advice is go to the store and talk to them and ask questions to your heart's content.  And then decide what would work for you.   A

Tony, I'll be totally honest.  For the first couple of weeks, I was ready to throw my new Mac through my office window.  But my learning curve is pretty slow.  And when I finally caught on (about two weeks after the big purchase) I was a zealot convert.  Other advice, get it with Office Mac.  And don't get it with Windows 

I prefer the PC over the Mac. On the Mac, you will not be able to right click on the mouse for short cuts like in the PC. And for this reason alone, I like the PC best.

On the PC all the main control buttons are on the top right hand corner and on the Mac, they are on the left hand top corner. Everything is on the opposite side with the Mac, so it takes a while to get used to.

If you’re going to be doing video editing or gaming on the PC, the quality if just as good, it's not 1980 anymore :)

I switched about 10 years ago and never looked back. I have no idea now how to use PC. 

Years ago I would have said yes, in a heart beat.  Nowadays, not so much.  They used to be virus free but no longer.

I switched this past January from the PC to a Macbook. I unplugged my PC, put it on a nearby table because I was positive I was going to have to use it for SOMETHING. I knew I'd have troubles getting used to the Mac. 

I never opened the PC again. After a month or so, I just put it in the case and put it in the closet.

I bought the extra technical help package and haven't used it yet, so that was probably a waste of money. The one thing I did buy was the microsoft office for Macs because I had so many excel spreadsheets w/detailed formulas that I still needed. Mac numbers isn't as good (in my opinion) as excel so I'm glad I did that.

I would NOT go back to a PC.

My PC blinked last night and made me ponder a MAC also.

It was not for me. I could not even switch from a droid to an iPhone. Had my iPhone for 2 days and took it back to the store ... give me my droid back 

MAC users will swear by them.  As for how easy or hard it will be ... it likely will depend on each individual.

There will always be a learning curve, especially with the mouse and the limitations of the operating system.  I've used macs before and the basics were intuitive enough, but I did have to call my Mac buddy for help.

I know when I went from an Android Phone (personal) and had to use an iPhone for my old job, I could not figure that darned thing out for the life of me.  So unintuitive (to me).

I've heard that it was quite a learning curve to switch. I don't feel I have enough time to do that and run my business.

If you live near an Apple store, it is even better. We live 5 minutes from the Wellington Apple store. We bought for $99 a year, their coaching program. We get to go into the Apple store for one hour one on ones and also for group sessions of 3 hours long "project time". We learned very quickly that way. 

The mac is SOOO intuitive. 

I became a raving fan even before our MLS would get on the mac wagon. I  have NEVER added ANY Microsoft products to pollute any of our Macs. 
We have iPhones, iPads, the Mac book pro laptops and 27 inch iMacs. 

We even have Apple TV. ;) 

I could never stand the difficulty of microsoft, the slowness of their operating systems, their difficult movie making software, 

and the worse part is that every 2 years we had to buy new PCs, also the stupid slow anti virus software would drive me batty!!! 

I have none of that with my macs. 

In fact, I make movies now so fast, that was one of the reasons I switched, was for graphics and video ease. 

Plus no more putting in two dozen hard to read serial codes for licenses. 

Mac NEVER asks for those! 

I could go on and on on but suffice it to say, at the end of the day, the learning curve more than made up for itself with the TIME I have saved!!! 
I have saved SOOO Much Time by using Macs!!!

Wow,  I am not sure I would switch.

I've been in I.T. for over 35 years and I have no idea how to use a Mac LOL - besides, they're so over priced it's crazy!

Small learning curve like erasing type in the opposite direction, but leaving PCs was one of the best moves I have ever made. There should be new MacBook Pros coming out this year. FYI, we typically change every three to four years.

A question I have asked myself many times Tony.  I'm making the switch later this year or early next year.  Now the decision is which one to buy.

YES - for me, it was MUCH faster and easier than I could ever have imagined - very little learning curve at all.  In fact, I had to learn how to close pages on the other side of the screen - that was the biggest hurdle for me, which is minimal!  Now, I don't know why it took me so long to take the leap into the Mac world - I LOVE IT!

And, yes, you can right-click and do even more with your mouse or track pad than you can with your PC mouse.  You'll love that the Mac boots up in seconds - not minutes!

My wife has a mac and I would not change.  I feel the PC runs the programs I need much better

Yes. I have given up using an Apple but took notice  iPhone products and other programs.  People switched to PC from Mac before it appeared to be on its last legs.

I came out of PC development and I can do most window apps in the back with DOS still w/o a mouse. Apple is sleek, pink case....

A Mac is very easy to use once you get Windows out of your head. I switch back and forth but when my next PC gives out I will replace with another Mac. I like to use Publisher which is Windows based. 

I will probably stick with a PC. I don't want to take the time and have the frustration of learning how to use a mac. I already have so much to keep up with in my business why add something else.

I have glanced at a few macs, looked like a new language and set of procedures and time did not permit me to dig into it at the time.

I do suspect that the average person could be proficient with one within a few days though.

Both are easy, I actually started on a Macintosh Plus in 1986 but switched to PC in the 1990's for less expensive programs, shareware  and customizing abilities. My sister is die-hard Mac. But we're both iPhone users. Michael Jacobs summed it nicely too.

Yes, not too hard. I switched years ago and never looked back. All your devices sync - iPhone, iPad, laptop, desktop. You'll like it.

Lots of good advice in comments here.  Personally I am sticking with PC at least for now.

I think people are Apple crazy & I get along 'seamlessly' with my PC. Rubish .....

Most people I know can't even work their Iphone correctly & those are the ones trying to sell you how great everything is lol.

    Find a friend or a computer store that will let you practice on a Mac, so that you can get a feel for it.  Macs are obviously different than a PC, but not difficult.

I have not made the switch but my Geno has now that he has retired from real estate. Its a personal decision..I'm too busy right now to contemplate a change like that..maybe some day.

Tony Lewis I don't have a Mac, but I do have an iPad. I don't know if they are similar, but there wasn't a big learning curve to the iPad.

For many people, it is easy to learn how to learn a Mac.  Many of the concepts are the same as on a PC but some are different.

Whether it is a good idea to switch depends on many factors.  For example, if you have some critical programs that only run in a Windows environment, then you would still need to use a Windows machine.

I have heard a long time ago that for graphics and movies it is a MUST do.  I am impressed with Ron and Alexandra Seigel  strong thumbs up.  Fear of the unknown is probably what holds me back.  For all we profess of welcoming change...when it comes to computers we have experienced enough heartache to try and avoid intentionally causing more.  Tough jump for me.  I sure am fed up with the present choice.  Mark

I switched to Mac only because my wife was a Mac person so I kinda had no choice.  It definitely seemed like Macs were more logical once I transitioned but I had my wife helping me out everytime I was stuck technologically speaking.

Why not get a Mac and enjoy both sides of the fence. A Mac will run all your PC programs just as good if not better than a regular PC will. Plus a Mac very rarely breaks or can be hacked.

Hi Tony - I started with Macs in 1984, used them until 2000, when real estate software required I switch, and am now stuck in the PC world courtesy of a ton of data files that I can't convert to Mac. But I regret every day that I'm not using a Mac.
