I imagine most but as Barbara Todaro answered -- the savvy ones know the best strategy for pets and real estate is "out of sight". That common "scents" approach is highly recommended.

I think most of our listings have pets.....some of the pet owners are wise and put the pets with other family members!!! the smart thing to do...

I don't show many homes as a rule but everyone out here is a pet owner, it seems. I take my dog with me a lot 'out and about' and someone always stops us to see and pet her and talk about their pets . . . having said that, being a pet owner requires extra actions and considerations when selling a home.

Lots of homes but I always encourage my sellers to remove pets temporally so they are not in the way..out of sight..out of mind.

I would say that at least 50% of the households have at least one pet... now whether they are at home during a showing is a totally different issue.

I don't track such metrics. In many cases, the pets are not physically present at the time of the showing.

More than half of our homes are vacant, so for the still-occupied homes, so far, it's only been '1' Harry F. D'Elia. And yes, there was a noticeable pet odor. Now, after serious cleaning, it's gone, and the house is going through Excrow. Fortunately, most of the Showings were with the dog absent along with the owner, but there was still evidence of a pet of some type (doggie door, gate, and food/water bowls).

Out of sight & smell is my motto but I did sell a CAT house a few years. The woman had more cats than . . . Fortunately the house sold itself, location, style andrice

I think about 80% do and on top of that the neighbors dogs sometimes wander over and I have to cope with them. I had a buyer last week that had just viewed a home and down the street came a dog. She almost jumped on top of the car. Not everyone is a pet lover.

about half, we do ask them to keep the dogs in a kennel during that time or go for a walk, but they dont always follow instructions.

About 50% and usually the sellers remove the pets for showings, unless cats.
934,610
Certainly not a majority. Most dog owners take the dogs with them when they leave for showings.

I would say, most of homes have some kind of pets. I went to see the home yesterday that had: 2 dogs, 2 cats, few fish tanks, birds( and I might missed more there:)

A good portion. Saw one comment in the agent remarks: "Call owner first to schedule. Large realtor eating dog on property."
