My son the attorney/Broker does this & they love him, the school loves him, the parents & the community love him & yes to business coming his way with LOVE too. He even ordered class rings for all the footbal players a first for them. The school lets him post his banners/ads and he does all the school games play by play live. So much good comes out of supporting high schools. It costs until it pays off but it pays especially in you believe in this

I bought uniforms for an eigth grade basketball team. I got no business from those uniforms but I got a courtside seat for the entire season and the joy of giving.

I haven't done this, but I do write about the local high school footballs games in my blog. I haven't gotten too much response off of my posts, but I love football and love doing the posts. 

I have in the past sponsored ads for football teams or help sponsor dance teams and gymnasts. Can't say I ever got anything out of it other than a feel good.

I've not sponsored a team, but I have advertised with full page ads for years for all sports teams at the high school level...plus other clubs that solicit ads from me....always a full page in their programs.....

Well, schools are always asking for money from parents, so you do give them more or less you can afford. Depends on the size of a contribution, the school creates banners, adds your names to brochures and honor lists, etc. 

I have not but I'm sure if it is done with consistency, it can have benefits to your business as well as your reputation within the community.  

That's a "branding" kind of thing.  Not something you can expect a direct ROI, but still worth it for me to have my name in front of parents

I think it's more effective when you have kids on the team or at least at the school. I did when my son was in school but stopped after he graduated.

I haven't - I think it works better if you have kids involved in the sport.

     No, but I know agents who have.  It's like farming... you have to persist, be present (not just put up ads, or get your name on a donor's list).

Hi Lynnea - We sponsor a local high school baseball team, and have a big banner at the field. We do it for market presence, so it's hard to measure specific impact, but stuff like that creates an impression.

Many years ago we thought about it and instead sponsored the YMCA with a banner. No business resulted directly from it to our knowledge, but it was a matter of 'giving back' to the community.

No.  I've never been asked and I'm not sure I would.  Since I work and live where I went to HS, I could only support my HS otherwise it would just be "weird".

No. If I did, my intention for doing so would not be tied to promoting my business. If anything came of it fine ... but for that to be the motivating factor ... just feels out of alignment for me.

Not a HS team, but I've long sponsored local softball teams in my community.  It keeps my name out there & that's always a plus. And the players like the freeze pops that come with being on Agent Brenda's team.  :)
