You need to post the video somewhere like youtube or vimeo or equivalent.
Then, you add the video.
I generally do on youtube and use the embed code. To find that go to share, and then there is button to embed. Copy that code into the html in the post. (use <> to get to the html). Ihope that made sense.

Barbara Todaro I believe AR will only accept YouTube videos by embeding the code.

Why not upload it to youtube anyway. You have that ability as you probably know and the upload can be handled from youtube in your contacts. Youtube is where most of my new business is coming from.

Bet you will need to add a YouTube step into this then post the video code into the html file.

Barbara Todaro - videos are NOT hosted on ActiveRain platform - until AR decides to invest in that.
There are so many free and paid video hosting services around.
Host that video, may be on YouTube - and get the embed code.
(I am sure you have many more similar suggestions....)
Good Luck.
As I read other comments - you can still host it on YouTube and make it private so it is not visible to others. You can still use the embed code from YouTube in your posts.

I dont know about Iphones, but with my phone I download the video file to my computer, then upload to Youtube, and then post the link.

I would think you first have to upload to YouTube. I think AR will also accept the embed code for Vimeo but have never tried

Download vid from your phone either by USB or send by email.
I say yes it's possible but the size of the video is going to be a problem. There is one format where I have to load videos like pictures so I do it every so often. Right now AR said the file was too large to do it on a test. I am sure that you've got the pixels up on your Iphone so it will be a large file.
I would put it on YouTube as private & then link back using the vid link.
OR ... do you have your own website to host it?

When you are in the write a blog mode. Hit the box with right facing arrow that kind of looks like a t.v. It will say insert or edit video. then it gives you general ebbed or advanced. If you loaded on utube from your google account scroll down and look for the ebbed code this can be pasted into active rain OR you can put on your website or utube and get the exact URL page where the video is hosted then paste the URL into the other box. Wish I could show you Or you can email it to yourself from your phone and open the email, save as - give it a name then upload that version of the video which is a condensed file

I generally send it in an email and then download it on the computer and then insert into AR.

I have not done it as yet. I have only posted from animoto and realbird.

Whenever I've done it, I've uploaded the video to YouTube first and then get the url to add to AR. It only takes a few seconds.

If you have a Mac, I think there is a program (iMovies) that makes it easy. But that is just idle gossip. Never done it myself.

I don't have an iphone but can't you connect your charging cord to your computer, click on the video icon in the post and then upload it directly?

Barbara, I was laughing at your comment ... too embarrassed to ask it. I see Debbie Gartner has it covered. Things are not always as "intuitive" as others say they are.
