Some of these questions are becoming more than a bit of a drain.  No offense intended.  Sarcasm, though, is another story.     

A very important part of your septic system.  If it fails the repair could be expensive. 

Some where not to park, dig or put a pool, yet i have seen all 3 this summer. I also have seen the difference between a test pit of sandy soil and black soil.

A Field of Leaches ... of wait ... that was of dreams. It would be a crappy dream if the leech field failed. 

Well... a "Leech Field" would be a large grassy are filled with worm-like-water-based-external parasites.

A "Leach Field" would be a drainage area largely associated with a septic system, and hopefully not filled with leeches.

We call them fields lines and they are the drain lines associated with septic tank allowing the sewage to seep into the soil and dissipate.

Sometimes real estate seems like a Leech Field.

When we were young, we went to a cabin in the Northern woods of Wisconsin.  Whenever we went into the lake (i.e., leech field), my brother would come out with tons of "leeches" on his feet....we then spent the rest of the afternoon watching our mother try to remove them.....jesting aside, I see you already have the true answer!

A Leach field is a made up of an area of gravel with perferated pipe to drain and dissipate effluent from a private sewage system...

Not a great place to walk after a big rain!
