It hasn't happened many times but when the working relationship isn't going anywhere it is time to part ways and use your time on more productive activities.

Yes. I fired a seller who wanted me to continue doing weekly open houses on a home where he refused to drop the price to where I recommended. I knew I could success in gettin ghim what he wanted, and told him so. 2 agents later the home sold for my recommendation

Yes, I have fired a few investor buyers who wasted my time.

I've done it a couple of times, and once I felt badly months later when I realized the client had been showing early Alzheimers symptoms.

I fired one seller in 38 years!!!  all went well through the listing presentation and the signing of the agreement.... I no sooner left the home and the phone calls started coming in with DEMANDS IN A RUDE TONE.... honestly, only one hour after I left the property.... it was an early morning signing.... we all went to work after the signing....

I immediately returned to the home; removed the lockbox and returned the key...removed my sign....and canceled the listing in MLS.... called them and told them I did all of that....and wished him well...and hung up immediately.

he listed with another agent in my office and I watched and listened to the stories of abuse for 30 days....the property finally went pending.... 

THERE'S NO LISTING OR COMMISSION THAT'S WORTH ONE MINUTE OF DISRESPECT AND VERBAL ABUSE.... NOT TO ME!!!! I WON'T TAKE IT....

I've agreed to part ways with a few.

It happens. The reasons can be different, but I always stay professional and thank them for the opportunity. You never know, they can come back or refer someone to you.

Yes.  Seller was totally unreasonable, became rude and demanding.  I suggested we terminate our agreement.   She agreed.

Yes, I was relieved. They will not put EMD after an offer is accepted. They said we will think about it.  I warned them their 72 hours is up, after showing 50 estates. 

I had to apologize to the listing agent. He was not as upset as I feared.

Relief comes to mind. Not often, but occasionally necessary!

You bet once because the price was too high and they would not come down.  The only other time is that my gut told me the client was up to no good, which turned out to be true

I have not had to fire any client. However, I have chosen to to continue to work with some.

Have a thought but haven't done that. Especially on the one who "knows" what they are doing and they "think" they are better/smarter. Hard headed..

Sometimes you just have to say "Its not you its me"  and have to move on
