I don't use email for that purpose.....I use direct mail marketing to secure new, fresh inventory..... too much spam today, and the delete button is there for those who don't want to deal with reading solicitations....but they all "AT LEAST SCAN THEIR MAIL".... send something eye catching and they'll read it.... if they're thinking of possibly selling now or in the future, they'll keep it

How do you get email addresses for a farm area?  I can see it for a SOI list, but for farm areas I have only found postal addresses.

What works in one area does not necessarily work in another area.  Try some A-B testing.

I'd say a little before 8, a little after lunch and in the last hour or so of the work day.  Those tended to be when I and most of my coworkers had downtime to read random emails.

Early in the week so they are viewed before the weekend.  I also agree with other comments, the material on the postcard is what's important. Good luck!

My neighborhood has a list-serve, and it's considered to be totally rude to use it as a farming tool.  I do, however, respond to some of the messages if neighbors ask for recommendations for roofers or painters or other fixup professionals.  I use snail mail.

I don't email in my farm area because I don't have email addresses, only street addresses. I don't have phone numbers either. It makes for limited marketing.

As for our sphere, I have some email addresses but I don't typically market via email. I never found it effective and I always felt like I was being a nuisance.
