1. educational sessions, which is first reason for going
2. networking
I'm not a wine and dine kind of person, so that matters little to me.

I rarely attend the large conferences. When I do I'm most interested in what I can learn. That happens in the workshops but also by meeting people and touring various vendor booths.

The education and networking first...energizing and then the wining and dining...as long as it does not include and whining!

All of it and it's the combination of these experiences and the interaction with other professionals - those I've known and those I've just met - that energizes me.

Debbie -- of the choices you presented, I'd say the education. Of the answers provided so far I'm going with the one provided by Amanda and Jared Christiansen

Truthfully, I have never taken advantage of the networking parts. I don't usually attend the ABR meeting because Larry hasn't gotten his designation yet. Hopefully soon! I am looking forward to it this year with all of the ActiveRain members! I usually go for the education.

The big industry conferences can be a real hoot. You do what you can, mix and match what you seek from your goals and objectives, soak it all in and enjoy all of it. Even the partying can be great.

It's been awhile but I wasn't impressed with the so called "energizing" at our conference - I must not have gotten the right flavor of kool aid I guess

I am not a fan of large conferences. If I went it would be first for the education. Networking second. I am not a wine and dine kind of gal.

I am all for the education and networking... the other items are pretty much ancillary to those two. I will say that it depends on the conference, with the CSR Sell-A-Bration being my favorite event I attend every year.

Sometimes the sesssions, other times the CE credits. The networking and seeing people I haven't seen in a year or more is always nice too. Plus the food/socializing and location is always key. The last ones I went to for my old job were at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Education, both from speakers and from other participants and networking.

That's an easy answer...Education and Energy...probably more so the energy. We have a small office and most folks office from home. We do belong to a local board but the weekly Marketing meetings are more "functional" than energizing.
