I have a soda stream at home and love it, but just the plain water, no flavors

Those were nice letters from Scott, I am sure they were much appreciated by all and sure to lead to good things in his future.

As far as the soda machines, very poor investment in a fad, people don't drink pop for the fiz, they drink it for the convenience of having a drink in a can.

A few years from now these machines will be stored in basements and found for 3 for a dollar at rummage sales.

Interesting, so it sounds like a Keurig for soda, if you can make different flavors.  As for me, I haven't had soda for at least 10 years, so I can offer no advice except to say if others have tried it and the quality is there, it may be kind of cool.

I do enjoy sparkling water but wouldn't want any flavours added.  I'm going to need one more new frig soon and will have the sparkling water option on that.

I have never been to an office with a SodaStream machine. I wouldn't think that is a necessary component to a real estate office.

I did receive a letter several weeks ago. From the comments I have read, he must have sent several dozen.

Now a days, wherever you go, just about anything is available. Obesity, lack of discipline and splurge dominates. However one can practice self-control by restraint. Bring on the soda (creme yum) for those that have to have it.

Tony, I did receive a letter.  Very nice of Scott to do that!

As to the Soda Stream, my parents have one from Bed Bath and Beyond.  The soda flavorings can be more natural and better for you than traditional Coca-Cola or Pepsi and there are a wide variety of flavors.  I've had the soda, sprite equivalent, Root Beer and Ginger Ale varieties and have been pleased with them.

A couple key things of concern though:

  1. They are loud!  So best to have them in a kitchen area where it won't annoy the people in the office.
  2. They take some getting used to, as far as how to secure the bottles in.  It's minor though.
  3. You can't make (or I haven't seen) a "one cup" size.  Most of the bottles I've seen for mixing are enough for 2-4 people, depending on the size of the container you pour it into.
  4. You need to have several compressed air cylindars available as there really isn't any good way of knowing when one is ready to run out.  The containers can be a pain to exchange as you have to go to a store to do it.

With that said, I think the positives outweigh the negatives and I would suggest agreeing to this request but make two people responsible for the maintenance and training (one primary, one backup).  Secretary & office manager are good ones.

I also received a letter from Scott Parrish -- I hope he is also selling real estate in addition to supporting the USPS.

There are plenty of distractions in an office without adding another.

I have no desire for one at home either --- for me it's more about getting rid of things than collecting more.

I've had a Soda Stream at home for many years and love it. I use it to make sparkling water. The soda tastes alright. There is no model number on mine, but it's also 5 years old. The ones in the store look similar.
