The sky is not falling. It will take two years for it to implement and can change in that time too. As far as its trickle down affect to my business/personal world, I don't see it nor do I expect it

Yes and the questions are welcomed as it is a great way to touch base and get them back on the right track.  I love when clients call and have questions and they think of me.

There are many issues going on today and we can be resources for helping with the panic that comes with it.

So far, no direct impact that I can see on the local market or the attitude of those out looking for homes.

It will be an interesting year as we head into the election and that is a topic I won't discuss.  It is sure to being in more calls and questions on how everything is impacting the real estate market.

No, I think that most people I know just looked at as a temporary blip on the radar.

I do have a few friends who would have panicked over this but they were already hiding in their bunkers so they missed the announcement.

Thomas,

It is not just about Brexit, there is a pall in the air that has been promoted by the media...Brexit is an excuse, and I quoted in a post that one of the global firms we worked with in our commercial real estate practice, Knight Frank did not see any impact as a result of it on real estate.  They did predict that the Bank of England would lower rates and they did.  The only impact would be that the ultra high end would languish...

I have many US Buyers who have taken the "wait & see" approach because of your upcoming election.  They feel it will become your Brexit and don't want to invest until they are sure of which direction the wind will blow.

I talked to our financial advisor who is orginally from the UK and it's not a pretty situation over there.  They took almost everything out of UK 3 days beforehand & placed it elsewhere.   Real estate is going down fast as are a lot of other things.   She did say there was a chance they could possibly reverse the vote.....and hopes that happens sooner rather than later.

As for us here in the states......lower rates is a good thing for our buyers at this time.  Will see what happens long term.  Hopefully not much.

As far as the average Mr and Mrs home owner, no. Some home owners are staying put, but buyers are ready to buy. You have to look to the cash buyers, the investors and see that they are actively looking for, buying, fixing and selling homes to see that they think the market is strong. Come November things can change depending on the election, but we have a ways to go.
