My husband won't let me do anything but vacation on vacation - it's a vacation!!!!

He does let me respond to customer emails though twice a day - but that's it

Good timing for this question. I'm in Copenhagen right now with some of my kids and grandkids getting ready to board a Disney cruise up the Fjords of Norway today. 

It's not really the most condusive venue for writing about RE everyday but it's been a lot of fun studying all the rich history and architecture that goes back so many thousands of years.

Makes you realize just how young America is and where so many of our ideas, traditions and customs originated from. I just keep taking lots of pix and the ones I like that have some relavence I share with AR.

Take this photo of very old and uniqe row houses for instance. Notice how they're starting to settle and tilt a bit. You see this a lot all throughout Europe and unless you take down the entire building it's just one of those things you'll learn to live with..................or in.

I'm not sure the last time I was without the Internet.  Well, I mean, since Al Gore invented it.   

You're not supposed to that is the point of a VACATION.

I typically don't on travel vacations. I will live blog on US vacations as I'm an early riser and I enjoy it, with coffee before Ailina wakes. But, when we travel Europe or anywhere requiring a passport, I'm sans technology. We use my bride's mobile, it's International and none of my clients know the #.

I use hotel computers to get trip info and research train schedules etc. but no work. I do like Roy Kelley says, I just either schedule some blogs or write them free-hand while traveling and then type them up at home.

I too travel with my devices and when I have time, I check in to read what's new.

I dont vacation, but I do travel extensively, and always keep up my AR daily stuff.

Hotspot to keep the tablet working on many a moutain top, and answering questions on the phone as well.

I would not even worry about it ... I would enjoy my vacation and leave AR be until reconnect when I return.

We were away last week and posted a few blogs about our vacation and tried to return comments on a few posts but our activity really slowed down. 

When we're on vacation, we try to limit our work to essential client contact.

Coal Infantino Why would you want to spend your vacation with blogging? You might as well stay at home. Roy Kelley has a good suggestion.

Lightweight lap top and smart phone; no problem.

My advice:  disconnect & enjoy your vacation.  ActiveRain will be here when you get back.

I use the post future date for my blogs when I go on vacation. Then, I log in daily to participate 30 minutes each day while on vacation.

OMG...no!

Reminds me of the couples I see in resturants that sit across from each other and don't speak because they are glued to their devices.

What is a long vacation?

Everyday is a vacation for myself. I am always in touch via phone and laptop.

The internet is everywhere...almost!

I take my laptop with me wherever I go

I always keep up while on vacation. My lap top goes everywhere with me.

Like Jeff Dowler CRS I travel with devices and just might spend less time on AR when vacationing.

Well, if you don't have a smart phone and really trying to "turn off" completely, Just enjoy the VACA. But when I am not included on an activity nor do I care to. I will sneak in a 15 min session. But make a time limit for yourself.

Wi Fi and laptops are great when on the road.

I do check in and can't help myself. It is part of the fun in each day.

Take a break. A vacation is a vacation. 

Although if you do want to stay connected...just login in and do what you do. 

If I have wifi accesss I check in as often as I can.

I do not have long vacations, but if I were, I'd probably not check in for that time. 

Hopefully with a good wi-fi signal.

I typically don't.  I don't take a computer with me and it isn't easy to do this over the phone.  I login for the 100 points, but that's it.

I just returned from vacation and except for logging in and making a few comments here and there I didn't get much done here.

I guess Coal Infantino - most places we have Internet - so it's a matter of blocking your time for AR...

I did it while I was on a 20-day vacation to India - the speed was an issue but...I still did it!

I don't vacations should be getting away.  Although I have found most restaurants have good enough wifi to help with the withdrawal.

Coal - I probably wouldn't. Sometimes I just like to enjoy my experience at the moment and not worry about staying connected to AR while on vacation.

I check emails and text messages and voice mails...  that's about it!

I won't when on vacation..... planning one for the fall with the family....
