I would check with the title company. I doubt this is an automatic transfer -buyer would have to apply, just like they would for homeowner's insurance. Perhaps one of our 2 expert Sacramento agents has a thought - Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents or Myrl Jeffcoat

I doubt if you can transfer insurance of any kind.  It is based on your credit score.

Sounds like you need to contact an insurance agent.  Not sure insurance CAN be transferred.

Is it transferrable?   If it is, the title or escrow officer should know how to properly do this.  If not, the buyer will need to speak with an insurance provider.

I just did one here in Florida and the sellers must authorize this with their flood carrier and if transferrable, the flood carrier with then generate the proper documents that will become part of the closing file. Prorations are then incorporated into the CD at closing.

Assess first and foremost if it is transferable ... my sense it that it would not be. If it is, as the insurance company for their process and get the necessary paperwork ... and ensure escrow/title gets engaged in the process to ensure all is managed 100%.

Because most lenders require a full year policy paid in advance transfers don't occur in my market.  Buyers get new insurance and sellers cancel old insurance right after they walk out of the closing.
