I like sod roofs myself. They grow grass and wildflowers and they keep out the hot sun.

One from the 60s? That's groovy man!
A rock roof (don't laugh, there's one two streets from me). There could be a lot of grooves from the rocks.
I really don't understand the question.

The one where we can feel groovy ... and not fall off of it.

Thanks for all the good answers. The one I was looking for was a hip roof.
Hip roof is a roof with all the sides slope downward toward the exterior walls. I have one that looks like a pyramid on top of the house.

Gee Nick, I was getting ready to say a clay tile roof, but changed my mind. It is the HIP Roof!

I like the sky and stars as my roof, but only if the weather cooperates. When I lived on my sailboat, I would open the hatch over my bed and sleep with the sky painting a different picture every night.

Nicholas Bush I lke the design and shape of a hip roof. We don't see many here.

Define "grooviest" - is this like "cool" from the '60's or sturdy and functional?

I like those tile roofs that they use in the SW, but I understand that you prefer Steel roofs, which have so good grooves to them too.

A Tile Roof. The kind you see in San Diego and the Southwest area. It has big grooves.

Tin roofs have a lot of grooves. The grooviest (in terms of being awesome) are the ones that don't burn, blow-off or leak.

Metal , sounds like tin can when it pours.
The shake was predominant roofing materials used in the west. It is insulated also(R=5). Now it needs to be treated with flame retardant pricey like $25K shaker vs. $8K+ for composition shingle.

Shake roofs are pretty groovy. I know they are pretty pricey as well as being groovy.
