I use the Buffini & Company monthly e-Report, I get 14-18% open rate on average (which is good) and 4-5 responses from different people each month!

I've always used Constant Contact and had great results with it. While I haven't tried the one you mentioned, I think the key is having a good subject line and then great content inside. Be sure to consider, just like blogging, that readers really care about what's in it for them, this isn't a good time to brag about what you've done. I see far too many people try to use the newsletter to show just how great they are. No one cares. =)

Have you looked into NewPanda?  They have a set up especially for Realtors.

I think I may be subscribed to at least a hundred and fifty E-newsletters, and have not read one of them in the past year.

Therefore I would not waste my time writing one, we are on to new technology, like blogging and such.

I stopped sending newsletters a few years back when I realized that people just didn't take the time any more to read anything substantial.  I switched over to HappyGrasshopper which is short, sweet and to the point and my data base is far happier!

I create my own and use MailChimp to send it.  I get about 40% open rate on my 50 subscribers (sphere and past clients).

It seems Constant Contact is used by many agents in my area.

Our office has just started using Moxi exchange.

John, I so dislike getting this type of email from other businesses that I don't use it.  There are other ways to keep in touch with people, ike the phone, an email or hand-written note.

This is included in their product ReferralMaker PRO CRM - no additional cost to you. Can't go wrong there.

I create my own that is sent to my sphere and past clients..50% open rate.

It is the content, your audience and getting the newsletter to your audience that affects the response rate.

I use HousingTrends and I don't think e-newsletters matter all that much in the end... you will never get a ton of responses from them. For me, it's free and a way to keep putting my name in front of people.

I see Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor refers to Buffini's e-reports, which to me are not true newsletters. But I use them in emailings to my data base and don't get anymore of a response than from the Housingtrends newsletter. But I don't believe you have access to the e-reports unless you subscribe to his entire CAP program.
