Only in the short term.  I think this is the beginning of the end for the EU and France seems poised to be next to leave.  Let the games begin!

Dow futures are down 489 points, Treasures down 20 basis points. Mortgage rates today will be better. We will have a rocky couple of weeks, but the sun will still come up tomorrow morning.

In the short term markets will be down today, but will rebound with the incredible buying opportunities. The people are speaking. The establishment is not listening. It is happening here in the USA too,  where the middle class has had enough of "polictics and business" as usuall. Even the main stream media is being seen for what they are and people are not going to put up with it anymore. Enough with the trampling of our rights.

Already is having impact on the markets, Peter Mohylsky ... seeing that this morning reflected in interest rates.  As for other ways, I'm sure it will ... in both the short term and long.  Everything I read sure indicates that ...

Stocks are taking a nose dive, which doesn't take too much these days.  Other than that, I don't really see it impacting us much, except the Pound won't go as far as it did.

As things stand, disruption will be temporary.

However, fear of the next shoe falling, Greece, Turkey, France, all interconnected with sovereignty concerns is the looming fear. Germany will be left holding the throne of the EU, being the only one bringing money to the table, just might develop cold feet.

In the USA, the issue is more aligned with "The Pundits who profess to know the mind of the citizen" will be revealed as knowledgeable of the UK pundits. The USA pundit solution: advise the candidates to drown the electorate in propaganda and the electorate will follow along like lemmings. Let's show them to be wrong. Then watch what happens in the colonies.

It would be important to see a list of USA companies who are totally reliant on the UK for access to the EU marketplace.

Peter,

I know the markets are going crazy...but they do go crazy on every little burp.  I have not really understood the EU and its function other than it has heaped all kinds of regulation and rules on member countries...I had no idea that France is also thinking of leaving as Susan Emo mentioned.  I am going to have to educate myself on this.  A
