Sorry state of affairs. No wonder people have low opinions of agents

Hi Richard - If you have established a long-term presence, adding value to the conversations as an expert and professional, and don't jump into the frenzy, people will notice the difference and seek you out. That's the theory, at least, and it does work, but you have to let people decide for themselves.

That is always a problem. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Be professional meet a real person.

Be "The Professional" in the room, good clients will recognize the difference.

Though, personally I would never want to gain clients in an online forum, far too global and you will spend too much time on people who are out of your geographic area.

Create a persona that will draw them to you rather than a reek of desperation that scares people away.  Let them see how the creme rises to the top! Be the difference.

I would suggest to be honest and genuine. You are there to help them as a professional.

Don't sell - become involved - if you're only there to get customers, you're doing it wrong

Avoid this by generating your own leads.

Stand out with your professionalism. It sounds like that's exactly what you did, Richard!

Richard Lowery - interesting question for sure. If you have a mindset of helping the members of the group, you may not be considered as a SHARK!

Just ask for it - simple.

A slippery slope. If they ask you for help that is a different story.

       I have left more than a few online groups and forums on LinkedIn, Facebook, and elsewhere because of what you mention.  When the number of Agents becomes the largest percentile in a group, it is time to move on.

Yiou have to offer an independant answer that has them noticing you. Any answer thats states call me i can help is often skipped.
