I'm not sure if flattered is the right word but I appreciate it. I need to be much better about the "thanking process". Once there is some interaction, I will likely follow back.

Jeff, of course and generally I follow back. I admit that sometimes on a featured post I might miss someone new because of the number of emails from AR getting overwhelming.

Absolutely! To be followed means the person took the time to find out something about you and felt you were someone worthy of getting to know more.

Yes, I'm flattered they think I might have something useful to say. I usually send flowers and chocolates. If you didn't get yours, the delivery person probably kept the flowers and ate the chocolates.

I reciprocate by following them back. Time is a factor. Had lunch yesterday with Noah Seidenberg and we were discussing this same subject!

Well sure, I'm flattered. I don't always follow back as sometimes I'm followed by someone who doesn't have any posts. I do send a thank you email, but often fall behind in doing so.

At first I was shocked, amazed and flattered. Now, I'm appreciative (thanks Michael Jacobs for that word) when it comes from an answer here or neutral if the follow comes for a "congrats" comment on a listing blog. I follow them back but I don't send a thank you or call.

Not sure about flatter Jeff Dowler CRS But I certainly do appreciate it. That stated I'd definitely be flattered if you followed me. LOL!

It is an honor when someone follows me. I do the best that I can with the time and resources I have available to me. I've never sent a thank you card for a follow.

I consider that a great compliment..... better than a feature.... and I send a thank you email to every one of them....

To me a follow is the result of respecting the time and attention of another.
They could have read any writer on the planet, but for that moment they chose me. I am grateful that I had the insight to respect their attention and time by delivering a different voice.
I do not pander for follows directly, indirectly or reciprocally.

I think 'flattered' isn't quite right. I appreciate people following my silly little blog... (although it makes me question their sanity), and I always send a "welcome to the blog" message and "thank you" through the Active Rain message system.
Although I rarely know if the follower has recevied the message... and I only hear back from 1 out of 100.

I think appreciated is a good word that Michael Jacobs used. I used to send a thank you email but never knew if they received it.
