I was introduced to someone who the office manager identified as someone who could help me.  She went on a six week vacation the next day.  Nice person but I never thought of her as a mentor.

I'm happy to answer questions to anyone...well...most any one.  

I did not have a mentor but watched many from a distance and picked up styles and tips here and there.

My Broker was a friend before I came to work with him and started in the business. He's continued to be a closer friend as well as mentor, trainer and counselor.  

I offer my assistance to all the new agents in our office. We have a team approach and it's been very helpful for everyone.

My wife was my mentor when I started in Real Estate.  I  help mentor our newest agent.

yes yes and more yes.  My former broker was a wonderful teacher and mentor and I do try to be that for all new agents at my firm.

Ron had a mentor, and then he mentored me, and I mentored our agents.  On this platform, we all mentor in some way or other...I could write a book on the subject, so much to tell.  One nugget is that the perfect mentor and the perfect student is like a perfect pitch in a song or a marvelous symphony...everyone thrives and learns.  A

My first Broker definitely was, and we still stay in touch even after I moved away 11 years ago. He was a very special mentor and we worked a couple of deal together when I first got started

I used to have one, my first managing Broker. She was great, took me under her wing. 

I have not been a mentor to someone but I have answered questions and helped many people in my office with computer problems.

My husband was my Mentor when I "married into real estate".  I have mentored a number of people along the way. I would say I rewarded my husband because he taught me so well that I became his top agent!

I had a mentor whoreally helped me, we became friends and I took care of a lot of her business when she was out of town.

No formal mentors, though I have learned from so many during my years. 

In turn I have been generous with knowledge and guidence to others when ever they were in need and ready to learn.

Alas, Fred, I had no mentors. But I have been a mentor to several people in a company that had a formal mentoring program for new agents, all of whom are still Realtors today (and several extremely successful). As my RE/MAX office virtually never hires a newbie, I don't have much opportunity to mentor anymore.

When I started things were simpler.  The contract was only a couple of pages long and my first company had an amazing training program that we had to complete before we were street ready.  I also had a very hands on manager. I think it's different for newbies today because most companies don't have good post licencing programs, and good agents are not necessarily good teachers or mentors.  

Yes, my broker/father.  My presence was repayment enough.  LOL!!!  No, nothing formal.  I get my job done and get listings sold and keep them away from the BS and headaches as much as possible.  That IS appreciated!

Yes, the gals that helped me get into real estate have always been my mentors, now they are my brokers!  We used to be at the same brokerage, but when they started their own brokerage, I followed them.

I was assigned a mentor when I was a new agent, but she was too busy. I do mentor new agents when I'm asked to and I'm there for them any time they need me during their first steps. I have one little bird right now, ready to fly:)

I remember the first "traditional" office where the broker told an "experienced" agent to mentor me. I was to start by listening to her take floor calls.

She gets a call and I hear her say "OH HONEY...I have the perfect house for you, let me show it to you..."

I decided right then that I was going to get a brokers license and open my own office that was not going to be like that.

Yes, I had some amazing teachers.  I have paid if forward many times over.

I mentor agents every day....especially with land and new construction.... 

I was mentored by the best builder in my area....I had all of his listings and worked very closely with him...it's because of him that I sat for my Massachusetts Builder's License and had it for 20 years.... 

Everyone needs a mentor.  Few get them.  I was not given a mentor and was thrown to the sharks, like most new agents.  Now, I am happy to help anyone who wants it.  

Fred Griffin Yes, I did have a mentor when I was transitioning to commercial real estate. We worked together on various transactions and split the fee. I have been a mentor and worked with new agents to help them get started in this business.

I had a mentor for the first two years of my real estate business. I have mentored an agent for the last three years. Bring it on.

I had a mentor and she got a cut of my first 3 deals.  Her 1:1 education, guidance and direction was priceless.  I've been a mentor...  It can be very rewarding but the new agent really needs to be appropriately motivated for me to justify the time required.

My first broker was available if needed. I did not have a mentor.

Never had a mentor.  I took my experiences from the corporate world and applied them to my real estate business.

I had many mentors and appreciate all the help they gave me. I in turn am open to helping others and enjoy helping them on the road to success.

I was born into a family Real Estate business. My mother was my mentor. Back then made to do every job, small, large, bad and good pays off today when i know every aspect of the business by doing it. 

My first manager was a great person but I doubt I would call him a mentor. 

I have not wanted to be a mentor to a newbie because it's just too time consuming. Hate to say that but early career drama is very tiring for me.
