In a cabinet is out now I believe. I think that people are just getting tired of them being the centerpiece of the room.

The mirror TV's are cool, so are the ones that come out of the bed footboard.

Never had our tv in a cabinet or hidden I closet, behind a mirror.  Our big screen tv is right there in our family room, same place other family members and friends have theirs.  Maybe we are not the 'with it' group.

I like to see my tv, but then I may live in a different world than some high end buyers who keep theirs in a cabinet or a mirror.

So listen to bob and do the opposite and you may be fine.

Our very high end homes often have a special cabinet. Otherwise wall mount TVs are the popular solution.

I think, ladies usually do not care about tvs. Only guys have a wish for a big tv:) I like my ipad and donated my huge tv few years ago.

I don't mind tvs that are showing - I do like the tv that is in the mirror of the master bath

NO cabinets! I think a sleek flat screen is a must when it comes to TV's. The ones that look like mirrors or paintings work to!

It depends on the price point. High end homes generally conceal them. Midrange homes have the TV mounted or in full view. A home is to live in so I don't feel the need to hide my TV.

No TV in our house.  But we do have a large monitor that we can hook the computer into in the family room; it is mounted on the wall.  Wife wants to put some doors over it, or put it in a shallow cabinet.

I like tvs that don't look like tvs:  mirrors, paintings etc.  Otherwise, a home theatre room is a better idea.  Fortunately, tvs are getting fewer and further between with most of my Sellers streaming to their device of choice.

Big TV's are now focal points for rooms. They deserve their own space along with DVD library etc. Anything that can imitate a litttle home theater is in

Funny you should ask.  I just had an offer accepted on a house where they have a CRT TV built into a cabinet in the corner of the room and cables running from between the TV and the cabinet to a flat screen mounted above the fireplace!

I do not see TVs hidden or built into cabinets any more in my area and in my price ranges.  I see them all over the house, on walls, on dressers or on dedicated stands.  If one is hidden, which is a rarity, it will be in the foot of a bed or a large home theater screen in a dedicated theater room (which isn't the primary TV!).

I think cabinet TVs went out when large TVs became flat, light and wall mountable.  To an extent, they became a status symbol for who has the bigger TV (yes, that's more a guy thing but women do that too!).

Home theaters are great. So many people are using hand held gadets for viewing tv and movies.

Seen one covered with a painting that flips up and back by remote control. Most of the high end homes with the interior designed by females have the flat screen or curved televisions "nicely exposed" ... in both my observation and opinion.

As a female, I don't have a problem with a visible TV and I don't come across many female clients who do, if it's "sitting" in the right location.
