No and in addition to what Ron and Alexandra Seigel said, children do not belong in profile photos. And I dislike profile photos that don't show a pic of the person but a flower or tree or view instead.

It can be confusing, but if both of you are using the account then it would be nice.

I suggested that my wife Sally Crane get her own account so that she could play in the rain too.

No, I would not recommend it.  1) It's confusing, 2) you can't see the person's face as well.  I agree w/ Ron and Alexandra Seigel 's point - just the person, nothing extraneous such as pets.  (I'm a huge pet lover).

My husband &I worked for same company for twenty years but never in business photos unless it was entire company.  He was commercial agent and I managed a residential office. Our focus was different but we referred business back and forth to each other.

John DL Arendsen Sounds like the dual profile photo works for you & your wife so why change what works?

I personally don't like it and would not do it but it is their choice and decision. I don't think children or dogs belong either but have heard some agents get business this way so if it works why not?

My profile picture on social media is often me and my husband, but sometimes me and my mother or the kids or the dog or whatever. On AR, since we are a team, we use a picture of the two of us. If we weren't a team, we wouldn't use a picture of both of us.

I think it's okay.  I work in a laid back lake market where people are casual and neighborly.  They love that I love my family and my pets.  And if I lost a client because I happened to have a profile picture at the moment that wasn't a professional head shot then I probably didn't want that person for a client anyway.

I realy love, respect and appreciate the mixed bag of opinions, attitudes and even philosophies that are being shared on this thread. It just goes to show how different and individual we all are and have a right to be.

It really boils down to personal choice and perhaps even demo and psychographics at the end of the day. If you live in downtown Manhatten where the prescribed performance suggests a 3 piece suit and polished black shoes then I would imagine taking up space with your wife, children or pets could be deemed inappropriated.

On the other hand if you live in a SoCal beach community where it's common to see folks in Levis, flip flops, a T shirt while walking your dog I would think it would be very openly accepted perhaps even necessary.

It's never hurt me as far as I can tell. If it has I don't know it and really don't care. It's who I am which is very important in this type of an environment. I certainly have never made a decision based on Fido and hope I never do.

Doncha just love A M E R I C A!!

It boils down to where the client's focus is wanted, and how willing you are to stand on your own where clients can see you and know who you are. Knowing that my picture here would be visible to people across the planet, I had to do some real alteration of myself to be and remain truly present for the photo.  It was very positive, affirming work.  Difficult, but totally worthwhile.
