Liking your own post is sort of tacky!

I don't do that.  It doesn't seem right to me. 

I haven't noticed and don't generally like my own posts unless it is by accident.

I haven't noticed - sometimes my comment does float to the top but I assumed that was just for me

You go up the ladder first by up votes and secondly by time you made the comment I think.

Part of the trending thing, everyone elevates based on the number of "upvotes".

You mean if you like your answer in A&Q? Yes, I often do it, not move towards the top.

Yes, it seems to rank answers by number of votes.

I have never liked one of my own posts.

Answers to questions usually are sorted by most 'upvotes'.

Actually, that completely depends on how many upvotes there already are, so that's not nessarily, true.  If you just answered, you have 0 votes and will automatically go to the top of 0 votes (as it's reverse chronological order).  If you upvote it, then you will go to the top of the 1 votes, but everything w/ 2 votes or more will be ahead of you.

I am aware of this feature but have not used it.  It affects the AR display order for everyone.
