I have customers coming to town - we are a very mitilary oriented area and all my customers coming are vets.

So, I'm working with them - I think that qualifies ;)

My parents and my brother were also Air Force and I am so proud of our military and will celebrate them and their service.

I have several family members who have or are currently serving. For those who serve I offer my sincerest thanks for your willingness to put your life on the line.

I always think of the people and families who made sacrifices for your freedom.

We will proudly be flying our flag this weekend DEANNA EARLY --( NMLS #268590 )--!  Both my Dad and Roger's Dad were Navy guys in WWII - one in the Pacific Theater and one in Okinawa.  We also have niece and a nephew who have served.  We always have been and will be 'beyond proud' of those that have served and currently serve.  I know that 'Freedom is Not Free . . .'  I can remember in my last career being at many cemetery services, and you could look over at me when Taps were played for Veterans, because I was the only woman working with a group of men, who had her hand over her heart, and tears in her eyes.

Flag is out for sure .. I leave it on my patio all year around.  I will acknowledge and thank all.  I am not a military brat but I come from a military family. Dad was injured in the war and later declared 100% disabled. Brothers served. Brother in laws served. Nieces and nephews are serving ... to all past, present and future and all those who fought for us and lost their own lives in the process.  

My flag will be raised dawn to dusk that day!

My paternal grandfather was a Marine and a Shellback.

No Barbecues for me.  A trip to the local veterans cemetery to place flowers on graves with none.  It's a 20 year family tradition with my daughter since she was 8 and asked me why she couldn't go to a picnic for memorial day.  We honor the fallen on Memorial Day, we celebrate our freedom and have a barbecue on the 4th of July.

I always think of my dad on this day as he served in the Army and was injured on Normandy Beach after the invasion. I will remind my children of his service and sacrifice.
