No. Never.  I would not work with a buyer using Quicken Loans. Adding to that ... what Barbara Todaro said ... my lending partner right here in the Rain. 

Oh, oh - pick me! pick me!

I hated them! They took six months to close a deal that should have been a slam dunk. 

Then I had three clients who I almost refused to work with who had been preapproved with Quicken. I wasn't sure I could deal with them. Every deal ended up being smooth as glass.

Here's what I learned . . . if you have great credit and are detail oriented, then Quicken works well. If you are (like so many of our clients) a little disorganized, don't have perfect credit, or don't have perfect documentation, Quicken may not be the way to go. 

If it's something out of the ordinary like an unwarrantable condo, I'd sure talk to someone at Quicken and get assurances before I'd jump on that boat. They're either great or they suck big time. 

How's that for clarity? 

I've heard good and bad from among you guys. I've never had the pleasure locally. We suggest our clients use local lenders. As a broker, known local PQs go to the top of the pile. We like our lenders within choking distance. 3:)

I doubt that I would be confident in an offer with these guys financing it.

I have only heard back experiences with Quicken or Rocket Loans.

Actually I was very leery but this local loan officer with Quicken Loans actually did a great job!

Peter Mohylsky - the only one was another online company - and the closing was delayed by about a month or so....no experience with Quicken - yet.

I did, it closed,  it wasn't pretty and my buyers spent more than they were initially told, but it did close and on time

My last one whech I warned the buyer about...closed after 2 delays fom quicken and cost the buyers over $1000 because of the delay

Isn't Quicken sort of  like a lead seller for lenders?  And I've never had a buyer use them.

A+ buyers with excellent scores and income can utilize Quicken loans to their advantage. If you are an average buyer, be prepared for the unexpected. Take the lead and cross qualify them with a local respected lender.

Not recently, Peter. After a complete disaster years ago, we have luckily never run across them again.

I despise Quicken.  

I've been researching them for several months, and their rates are not even in my top 15 lenders. Pricing on a 30 year fixed is 1.35 points higher than my best lender. That's not even close. I've heard they also steal your customers. I'll still watch them, maybe they will get better, but f or now, I won't use them.

Nothing in the last 10 years.  In the way back machine, they were good.  Now, dunno.

They always say they can do it.  Though, they only do well at conventional straightforward loans and probably won't be able to close this one.

Quicken is a mixed bag --- for a standard loan, it's hit or miss - since it's largely a call center operation, the LO could be OK or a complete idiot, you never know.

For an unwarrantable condo, though?  I'd definitely check out other options.

If it's truly unwarrantable, Quicken won't be able to do it. You need a broker with non-QM products in their arsenal..

No; we have had two transactions implode in the past with Quicken and will no longer accept an offer showing Quicken as the financing company.

No. But did have a buyer to get an equity line thee and then she paid cash.

Quicken is enticing with a lower interest rate for buyers.  An agent in our office is working with them. Anxious to see how this works out.

 We are local loan people...we have not but know of people who have...the far away not local folks can spell closing trouble...and has for other people we know...so we just stay away...far far away.

Not recent. It was about two years ago and the transaction closed on time without any issues once the offer was accepted.  I suggested and buyer agreed to two mortgage pre-approvals which proved to be important in a multiple offer situation.
