I think you need to spend some time getting seo help. We have 1.4 million websites for realtors. We have more realtors in CA than buyers+ sellers by a factor of 1 to 10.... Just about everyone has a website..

Wordpress for sure and I would keep on my same hosting (hostgator) so it wouldn't cost any extra in hosting.  I am abt to do this in next month or so.

I would decide which kind of template style you would like. Then I would go WP only. You could host it yourself which is really cheap from $2.95 to $8.00 per month.

Hire a pro to help you so you can save your sanity. I myself have written 2 posts about building my own WP site myself explaining my time in intensive care!  Katerina Gasset on AR knows what realtors need.

You'll also need an IDX with it so people can search obviously.

OR .... you can do a budget basic plan thru Placester.

Here's where to find out more: AgentDrive.com - Real estate website & hosting

Here's also a quick example of one of our C21 clients site: Century 21 Property Link

I've been with iHouse for many years and love the ease of managing my own website.  They include the IDX, have many content options that auto update and more.  Their templates are customizable and their staff is very helpful.

Hi Tony & Suzanne - I've built three and I love the flexibility and ease of Wordpress. With hosting, we have switched to a host with massively-protected servers - twice previously, we had malware inserted into our site and only discovered it when our site totally disappeared from Google searches. The big guys we were with couldn't or wouldn't help us find and correct it. http://internetmediaconsultants.com/ did (and they do Wordpress design too, especially the parts that are difficult, like CSS, plus they're an IDXBroker vendor and can help with painless integration, and they're good people).

Wordpress is a good start-up. However, if I had the money, I would outsource this as there is so much going on and needing to get done.

For me, Wordpress was the easiest to setup and manage.  I run on GoDaddy, but there are other vendors out there as well.

Tony,

The creation of a great 'whiz bang' website is the easy part.

However, as a business person, defining the role and purpose of the website in your business, is essential. Skip this step and you will buy what 'they' are selling.

For instance, I needed a website that had real computational capability. Five vendors said, "No Problem" and created a "whiz bang" that could not add subtract, multiply or divide.

80 percent of the effort in creating a website is in defining the purpose and function, 10% in creating, 10% in testing. Don't skip the important part.

If you need a validation website. any vendor will do.
A real estate search property website, most templated sites will do.
A blogging website. You  can build a Wordpress yourself.
Lead capture, conversion, escalater, re-targeting, now you need specialization to maintain the funnel, keep it optimized and the ROI high.

A good consultant will explore, "Can you do what you are already doing, but better aligned to accomplish the goal you have written down."

Currently I'm looking for a WebVR developer. It seems they exist only in the dark web. However the EXP folks you directed me towards have been helpful.

If I were directing a newbie agent who has a validation website with the broker, I would advise they need only landing pages and a FaceBook ads campaign. Toss in a Wordpress blog if they care to spend time blogging which is NOT where I would suggest they spend their time.
