Love the look... and here in my market stainless steel is still "king" regardless of the style of kitchen, contemporary,  country, traditional.

I personally like the brushed stainless steel with black trim, but that may be starting to go out.

Stainless looks good when it is a contrasting appliance, but when it becomes so large that it is the wall, like this one, then it becomes too much for a home.

Perhaps these nearly walk in coolers should be tucked away in a pantry somewhere out of view.

I actually love the industrial vibe, plus it is very versatile. Warm or color touches or not.
I LOVE the idea of a double island. The space is big enough . . . it would probably balance it out pretty nicely.

And I love the big frig - lots of room for fresh produce and many drinks!

The idea is good but I think it would take away from the open look. I like Bob Crane 's idea about a pantry instead and would go with either slate or bronze appliances...SS is on its way out here. And no pendants, please!!!

I am not usually a fan of the industrial look, but I like this, too. It's very streamlined. I'd hate to be the one to keep it finger proofed!

A. I still do, they are trying stainless in black now.

B. What's the sq feet on that puppy now? I think it's like 50 isn't it? If that is only the frig, then do the other as freezer.  Might seem a little boxy as those things are pretty big.

No butlers pantry? You better throw in a super high end stove.

Mike,

We are not that fond of stainless steel, and in my opinion the island is just a protrusion off the wall.  I like an island that is part of the cooking area for prep, serving and eating in.  I don't mind the cabinet, and I think the pendant lights have been overdone.  A

I have not needed a second unit, but if I had one I'm sure I could find a use for it.  I like the look of the unit, it keeps in line with the color of the tile, counter top and stools.

A useful picture.  That dark corner has a lot of "weight"  to it.  Not necessarily bad, but it will pull the eye like gravity pulls our bodies, so you will need a way to add some balance in the room.  Notice the dark red fruit in the bowl.  It needed to be dark fruit, with a tone complementary to the dark grey of the cupboard.  A bowl of oranges would not have had the same complementary effect.  Someone had to look hard to find that fruit, but they did a great job.  Curtain fabric will have to be very carefully chosen too, in order to keep adding balance instead of removing it.  And there is a risk that the room will be a bit sombre or else quite stark and spare.

So if you like the nice clean lines of this picture, and I do, you will need to consider exactly what shade to make the surrounding cupboard, or you may have a room balancing challenge.  What about maroon, eggplant, dark green or navy?  They all have depth and weight, but are not quite as black as this dark grey, and you won't need black tones in the other balancing colours around the room.

I like stainless steel and very popular here.  Black stainless steel is the latest thing.  Love 2 islands, but this one looks very out of place.  I have seen 2 islands work very well, though.

2 refrigs are overkill.  Definitely not.  I'd rather just have space. And, 2 refrigs is definitely not a wow.  It's a big turn-off.  But, I guess an extra refrigerator for lower level could come in handy.

Stainless is overdone, but there are few alternatives.

I do love counter depth refrigerators. Those huge protrusions into the kitchen are ugly, almost as ugly at those 60 inch black squares attached to the wall.

Two, one freezer on refrigerator could work very nicely. Two refrigerators if there is a lot of catering taking place in the house...it will be mandatory.

If it is for a family of four one should be sufficient; if for ten or more it might be feasible.
