Yes please. I just asked AR to block somebody who posted a spam phishing comment on my post. I deleted it. He came back, did it again and is now following me. I don't have time to play whack-a-mole with these fools.

I am personally not having issues but sorry you are, and no doubt there may be others, too. I think it makes sense to be able to do this on an individual basis

Yes. I started asking for that about 5-6 years ago.  I would love that feature and frankly, for a small fee, I would be wiling to pay for it.  There are some folks in the AR community (like the whack job agent that refused to pay the referral fee) that I find so vile I do not want to see their faces.  

That said, Bob Crane's point has validity. Maybe if they can monetize that feature the tech team would invest the time building it. 

Not really needed and they have plenty of other tech issues that do and should have a higher priority.

Hi Carla - We used to have one here. I think it went away when Market Leader came on the scene, but I do remember using it once.

Thats a really good question and I'm with you on seperating yourself from the wack jobs!  Sorry I dont know where or how to get that done.

Hmmm....if there are "members of the other kind" following us I don't know it...but blocking does sound like a good idea...though blocking from following doesn't mean blocking from commenting...that is the BIG D ...delete button.

I personally have not had any issues, and was sorry to read that you have Carla Muss-Jacobs, Principal Broker/Owner.  Would hitting 'report' do that, as I have not yet used that - I've only used 'comment'.

No, but maybe just because I've never had issues.  

I have never needed to use the block feature on any social media...yet...but it would be nice to have in case it is ever needed. That is one thing I really like on FB.

Just tell Bob Stewart and if they are abusing Active Rain he will decide what is best to do with the person. (tar and feathered, drawn and quartered etc).

A feature where you can prevent someone from following you on Active Rain. Hmmm.

Although this seems a solution of great convenience, it is the response of the small minded. As we further restrict the spectrum of those from which we hear, the smaller and more shrill our own voice becomes.

It is a perpetuation of what we currently witness all around us today. Maybe a more mature option exists. Such an option should not be beyond the grasp of mature professionals within a well defined community.

Will my thoughts prevail in a community that is prone to throw others under the bus? We shall see.

I think spam and phishing is one thing and blocking an ActiveRain member is another. I haven't had any problems with any AR member that would require that I block them. I guess if people are feeling uncomfortable, that the option should be available.

I believe a block feature would be beneficial to all. One never knows when a newbie decides to follow your every move, copy and share your expertise, reblog your every post, and let us not forget, answer every question you post.
