Blogging, website pages showing market reports, listing blog posts with extensive details on your listings, ( shows you care about your listings),  social media channels, community FB groups to add value to communities, YouTube channels highlighting your marketing,  and most of all dominating page one on google for your listings and the geo targets you are working in. I feel that I do a decent job of conveying it via online channels.  Video would allow for a higher degree of communication, as Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor stated, but I do not do those and have zero intention of ever going infront of a camera.  It was hard enough to have a still photo taken!

Blogs & Vlogs. But video I think is the next best thing to face to face or voice to voice. 1-3 minute videos to convey your personality and competence.

By written testimonials or reviews from clients who have worked with us and they write about it.  A vote of confidence from someone other than me speaks louder than anything I can say about how wonderful and talented I am.

Blogs are a good way to relay a lot of info and expertise.

Writing, videos, telephone conversations ... all methods of communication can convey expertise and skills when it is done properly. 

Sure, in a number of ways - blogs, online marketing materials, video, social media presence, to name just a few. HOWEVER. In my business, it is often not just what you know, but WHO you know that gets deals done. THAT is often not conveyed until a belly-belly meet or phone discussion as those relationships are personal as well as professional, and we don't tend to want to reveal some of our sources online or even in writing.

Perhaps. However, I prefer face to face contacts.

You could. There's that thing called YouTube.
YouTube and EasySketch (a scribble program) work well togehter.

But, it would be mostly and exercise in futility.

No one, NO ONE, is interested in buying skills and/or expertise.
They do want to buy the outcomes that are the result of expertise.

Sell the outcomes. 
That is the message your digital channels need to deliver.

Yes, by identifying them to the consumer.

Somehow my enthusiasm, knowledge and go getter attitude seems to come through. I wish I knew how that happens. 

Lots of ways to get the word out, but I think many people give a lot of credence to testimonials.

We all agree that face-to-face contact is ideally better, but it is not always practical to prospect that way. If you need to communicate skills or expertise to someone you have not met in person, a blog or video testimonial can be an efficient and effective way to do so. Blogs and video can be intimate ways to do this.
