We aren't seem much new construction in my area. 

Very open floor plans with lofty ceilings and specialty ceiling treatments. Ipod stations and smart home features are popular.

Open Concept, Large master retreats, lots of what used to be upgrades (molding, french doors, granite, etc),  Large kitchens with all the upgrades, stainless steel, large islands, granite, double ovens. Lots of storage, and hardwoods!

Everything included is now more the norm that the exception in our area.  Mello Roos is also prevalent.

one level living AGAIN.... because of density concepts being popular and ACCEPTABLE NOW within towns and cities, active adult communities and ranch style homes are a popular trend and in great demand for the baby boomers.... 

More green features included, 3-car garages, 1st floor master

Two built-in ovens if room allows. Also, second refrigerators in the kitchen

Our niche is investors we see very little new construction.

It all looks pretty much the same to me. 

I don't really see anything that new or different.  The open plan, granite and stainless kitchens, etc. for the average priced homes seems to be the standard.

I sold a new home in January that has a separate living area for family member, and their grown daughter has her own space with a separate entrance. 

wider plank hardboard floors, grey colors; other things like 3-car garages, stainless steel, have been around for a while.

Same old stuff...but bigger...one builder actually heard the buyer and offered this....

Reclining spa chair and accommodating sink in place of jetted tub.
