Not very often, as many of our buyers are either snowbirds (meaning they are not here 12 months out of the year), or they are living alone (widows or widowers).  Their bills are usually very reasonable Praful Thakkar.  So a very few have asked, not most of the people.

Pretty common up here regardless of highend or first time buyers.  When you deal with our weather extremes, heating and cooling costs help determine the insulation factor and quality build of homes.  We typically ask for 12 months of energy costs.  When looking at 2 homes of equal price and features, energy costs come into play and can determine the better home.

Maybe, 10% of the time; more often than not the request is from first time buyers and those buying townhomes or condos.

It happens fairly often. I think some buyers ask because they believe they're being thorough by asking the utility costs question. I've never seen a transaction fall apart over utility costs of the seller.

I've had it asked twice and refused 100% of the time.  If a buyer's agent asks me I refuse straight out (I have that authority).  If my buyer asks, I talk common sense and they agree that the request was silly.

No two families will have the same needs, temperature likes, cooking, usage, etc.

Tallahassee city limits, the bills are on public record and can be accessed online.   The County may use Talquin electric, not public record, you have to ask the Seller.

I caution Buyers that lifestyle, number of people in the household, and other factors can affect utility costs.  It's better to get an Energy Audit to estimate your future utility costs.

Duke energy bills are publicly accessible in Pinellas County FL.

However, those homes promoting energy efficiency somehow manage to leave a utility bill on the counter or in the folder to substantiate the feature.

I take care to advise, as you can see, this house is occupied by former New Yorkers, two adults, three kids and what appears to be a golden retriever all able to enjoy a heated pool and a house at 72 degrees. Do you think their bills will be the same as yours?

Of course I know the bill will run around $400 a month if they keep the sliders closed most of the time, but it is quite irrelevant for this downsizing couple.

Not for the actual bill but have on occasion asked for average costs -- it can vary based on household size and personal habits.

I suggest they request information for the gardening or pool service unless they already have a preferred vendor in the area.

Are you asking this question from India?  People like to gte a ballpark of what utilities will cost.  I always tell the buyers that everybody uses them differently.

I love when I get "the owner is elderly and loves the heat turned to 80 all the time" from the listing agent.  At times it is true.
