Honesty, integrity, knowledge, training programs and support and even commission splits matter.

I like to work for a broker who is a manager and does not compete by listing and selling.

Jake,  I always tell agents with the same question to log into LuxuryRealEstate.com and find out the brokerages that participate in your area, then go interview with them.

Jake, I have a few questions, as an industry observer what do you observe? Also, since there is no money in being an industry observer, what do you do for a living?

Does the brokerage have the enviroment, training and mentoring to help me take my business where I want it to be? In house training/education, in mentoring programs, in house coaching and/or accountability partnerships  that are budget friendly, how many other new agents are doing well there etc. The other side of the coin is (possibly that is)  - big name company - here's a desk, phone, and computer - start - we're a great company and being here with our name is going make you lots of money, by the way that'll be XXXX/mo for the chair.

Experience and knowledge of programs.

If seasoned, work with a broker who understands your value.

Hi Jake I think new agents should strongly consider a successful team in your niche or community with leads to offer and infrastructure.  Brokerage is less important until you have the skills and humans to sell houses to.

Training. Culture. 

Availability...if you can get that, everything else is there
