Sorry to hear this. I've used "crap" forever and have really not had any infections.

I prefer my PC & have stopped using McAfee many years ago. If you don't use it that much use freeware like AVG.

I have no choice but to use the POS. Our proprietary software doesn't work on Mac.

hmmm... piece of crap. Because crap is everywhere, it's cheap and it somehow fossilizes into a PC that works for me.

Mac only, but it is was I prefer. Apple products have some issues, but much less than any other products.

As a gaphic designer and realtor I've been a Mac user for over 25 years, only once my kids got a PC and it didn't last. I gave my old Mac Book Pro to my husband when I upgraded and it's still working after 10 years!!

I have used a few different types of computers over the years, but have stuck with Dell and Kaspersky, and have had no problems.

Michael - Wow, I wonder how you really feel. I have used both in different situations, but am currently using a PC.

Good morning Michael. I do not use a Mac, usually buy a new laptop every couple of years, the last one cost me $348.

We know your favorite system now! Have you tried Parallels or Bootcamp for Mac to get your inspection software running?
No AV is perfect. The estimates I've seen is that they find less than 25% of what is out there. Too many variants and far more people writting them than researching and writting definition files.

Piece of crap for me. Oh, and my Kindle Fire HDX.
I also know lots of people with problems on their MAC's -- they jsut try not to admit it.

I guess just from your title, we can tell how you feel! A Mac is outside my budget right now, and I also have an android phone, so a PC works best for me. You are right with all the virus problems. I'm surprised that no hackers have figured out how to attack a Mac.

I have no issues with my PC. Has been working very reliably for me for many years,

I love my MAC but still use my PC for my Excel spread sheet for real estate expenses for my accountant.

I have never had any computer issues with my Apple products so taht being said they are better. I like using Publisher and it is Window based so have to struggle with that too.

TeamCHI - Complete Home Inspections, Inc. I always used a PC for laptops and my desktops. However, I do like the OS on my iPhone and iPad.

I love Apple products, but have to use a PC for the programs I use. I find most people that complain about the PC are using one they bought in the 90's. I have a new HP Envy lap with the latest gen Intel processor, 16 GB of memory and a giant hard drive, and it SCREAMS....Super fast and reliable. I've clocked the start up time from completely off at 10 seconds.
Also,I've used Norton 360 for years and have never had any problems with virus/malware. It also automatically backs up my files to the cloud and periodically tunes up the computer. There's an annual subscription, but it's well worth it. It often amazes me at how little people put into the most important tool in their business. Don't even get me started on fax/scanner that agents use from the last decade--you know, a 15 page document comes over and it's 70MB large...
You have to pay a bit more for a solid POC, but it's well worth it--and a tax deduction to boot...

PC or piece of crap? Does that answer your question, Michael?
You know me, I am all about Crap. I even have an AR group for it.

I used 'POC' forever, but just switched to Mac a month or so ago. Post is coming with my thoughts but the quick version is that with one exception, I'm happy I switched to Mac. In fact, I unplugged the POC and left it right near my desk because I was sure I would have to go back and do some stuff on that while I was learning the Mac, and I have yet to turn it back on. In fact, I moved it to the closet for now.

Mac. Hands down. The "crap" that flows onto a PC is tiresome...and slows it down....

Free anti virus software does not work like the paid versions. It doesn't cost much.

I am a POC guy who considers himself lucky to have little problems with viruses!
