David,

Ron loves it for his editing and we both have an iMac with a 27'"screen. I agree with  Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI  recommendation.  Ron is very insistent on getting things done the right way. This way Ron can notice the errant pixel!

In our commercial real estate career we did many office leases for editing movies and adding sound to them.  Each and every company used apple products, because of their tools for editing.    They really know what works. A

By the time you are done buying the Mini Mac and the necessary RAM, etc. Get an IMac instead with the 27" screen

Yes you can do green screen editing with iMovie and it has some other good features, too.

I'm not a Mac guy, but I have a friend with one and he makes movies with it that look just fine.

If you get a "mini mac", the OS should come with the latest version of iMovie. You can do green screen, and many other effects. Go to Apple's website and search for iMovie and you'll see what it's capabilities are.
