Blogging usually attracts more buyers. Sellers tend to look at other agents selling in the neighborhood and their past agent and referrals from friends.

I know when you start a blog you should know your audience, but some posts could actually attract both.

I blog for both, to get my name out there and for points, like Sam said.
Sellers usually turn into buyers once their house sells and buyers may turn into sellers if they have a place to sell. Back 20 some years ago in the first CA drought, we used to have signs on restaurant tables that said "When does 1 = 3?" referencing the water used to wash a glass of water and justifying them not serving it unless asked for (a practice which sadly never died off).
I think of buyers and sellers in a similar phrase "When does 1 = 2?" One client can turn into two transactions and refer you to other people or may need to sell the house they just bought eventually. Both sides can be easy or difficult to work with, so I don't discriminate. A client is a client.

I enjoy sharing knowlege and feel that it really helps me understand and learn also. If it leads to business that is a great bonus.

I just blog and let the chips fall where they will. So far it has been profitable.

RealtyZap . my market reports should attract sellers....and buyers alike.

I think it is pretty typical that agents blog for buyers more than sellers.

It is an interesting questions. I'd like to see some research on it: who read our marketing and local updates: sellers or buyers.

My blogs have not attracted home buyers or home sellers.
The best use of my blogs has been to use the same material in mass email to my database.

neither, just to educate and entertain. And pick up a little seo while I am here.

Blogging does make my phone ring. Most can't remember where they found me just say it was online.

I blog for both. Sellers in my community read my blog and see I provide good content and sell the community as well as my listings. I am an ambassador for the community....many prospective sellers call for that reason.

Yes, and yes, and 2016 will see me really focusing on more, and also a LOT of video!

I blog to impact & improve and maybe provoke my readers. Hopefully, I connect enough with some that will be future buyers, sellers, or even other Realtors with referrals, Blogging and writing is a passion, I'd do it whether I was a Realtor or not. Referrals are a great result of my blogging, but not what drives it. I have received business off blogs in the past, it was fun to meet and work with a reader of my content.

Bogging for me is more about enjoyment, but it has its moments in business!
5,104,931
I do not, as I can't yet point to an actual buyer or seller coming to me as a result of my blogging. For me it's just part of my "brand marketing" and visibility in my community. As far as I'm concerned, either buyer or seller coming to me as a result of blogging is good.

Good morning. Most of my time is spent in face-to-face relationships. Blogging is for the online relationships.

I target both buyers and sellers. I also just blog to have fun. I really enjoy writing about what I know, and communicating with othe people about it.

Neutral. Working on our points....
Blogging is a great sharing one's knowledge.
